Clayton: Campbell Wants Carolina, Does Carolina Want Him?

He'd be coming here as a veteran backup. No delusions here.

And I doubt he want that. He been a starter with the Redskins for sometime, that I'm sure he still want to be a starter somewhere else. He won't get it with Moore here.

Moore

McCown

Rookie

Err.....I would put Cantwell in there if we don't get a QB in the Draft.

guys get a grip, the panthers are his favorite out of the rams, bills/seahawks and raiders, go figure.

I don't think he wants to go somewhere to compete much or be a backup, the Redskins have robbed him of enough playing time.

I've also never seen so many people knock a guy for NOT throwing INTs, and he was on a pretty big streak of throws without a pick last year.

Campbell's TD to Int ratio last year was 20 to 15. That's 3 picks for every 4 touchdowns, or 75%.

How exactly does that equate to "not throwing ints"?

Some people just make up arguments that sounds good....

Seriously though how many people actually watched watched Campbell last year???

My issue without him is lack of confidence and poor decision making... I feel no need to make Moore Compete with him for the position as I believe it would do more harm than good.

I can admit I was all over Jake's sack for years... I'm still hoping he does well in Cleveland. I was against putting Moore in. Now that he is the starter I am ready to see him one full off season being the man, taking all the reps, no competition, his job. Let us see what he does this year...

If he fails we will have our early round draft pick next year to address the starting QB position.

Yeah I just saw that on Espn too, I have a feeling all these QBs want Carolina because they saw that Jake was terrible last year so they have nothing to follow, but also saw that the running game here can carry a team.

WOW! Or MAYBE Campbell thinks he can be out an undrafted FA that has started only a few games in the League.

Nah, that couldn't be it....sheesh!

Jake is gone folks, let's start being realistic here.

Did you? Campbell was playing great the last 2 or 3 games of the year...

Being realistic would admitting campbell does not know our system....and won't start over Moore, who has 3 seasons in our offense.

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
