Santonio Holmes traded to JETS!!!

Wow. Surprised the Jets took the risk. Good deal for them though. If it pays off, they look like genuises. If not, they only lost a fifth.

What risk? They gave up a dang 5th round pick. If he doesn't pan out then who cares. If he does pan out (very likely) then they just got a 1st round talent WR for NOTHING.

The good news for us though...Now the Ravens AND the Jets got their WR spot settled. That will bode well for talented WRs falling down to us.

If anyone had any hopes that we would trade for a receiver who's been arrested 3 times already, is currently under investigation and specifically said he wanted to go to a big market team, I'm not sure which team you've been watching for the past few years.

What risk?

Four game suspension facing a player who will be expected to produce immediately means you possibly have to gameplan for not having him right off the bat and then switch gears after the first quarter of a season and hope that a) everyone can be productive without him and B) everyone can assimilate to the new mindset after he's on the field. Things get even more complicated if both recievers start the year on the sidelines.

Tricky to plan around. Not many coaches who would take that on.

well doesn't that just mean that the steelers will be picking a WR instead?

Maybe not. That kid Wallace played really well all season for them. He'll probably be Holmes replacement. But with Hines Ward getting up there in age they may decide to pick a WR although I think they go OL with their first pick. They also picked up Arnez Battle earlier in FA so they aren't in horrible shape at WR.

Some of you really need too get a clue. THe Jets just got a superbowl MVP for a 5th round pick!!! This was a steal with little risk. For all you who don't think this please tell me a 5th round pick that can give you 79 cacthes 1,236 yards and 5-6 TD? Even if he misses the 1st 4 games I don't see a 5th round pick who makes a impact in the 1st 3-4 years of their career. Plus he is only 26 years old!!! Please don't give me the whole hollier then thou thing we do have a wr who has sucker punch 2 of his teammate. Not to mention a whole Oline who was jucieing and a drunk QB who if he didn't quit would still be on the team. A Olinmen (chris Terry) who put a gun in a women face and he only left in FA. We just let another player fall out our laps. How many times will this happen this offseason.

Smart move by STEELERS

Holmes wants a raise, and loves to party his $$$ away .

New York is a heck of a town to party your $$$ away .

Holmes is off the field till 5th week ,if he's not got himself in trouble clubing by then.

Plaxico could hang out with his home boy .

    • Thank you so much for posting links to the players so I don’t have to copy and paste the name and look it up.
    • All signs point to legit. We’ve been way better than our record the last few years it’s just we’ve had brutal injury luck. Also I’ve watched nearly every game this year and 3 things have stood out to me even when healthy from early in the year to now: 1. Early on Lee had some brutal rotations and situational coaching but he’s improved a ton there. We lost some close ones early we should’ve won. Sure most our recent games have been blowouts but in close games we’ve improved a ton there. 2. Defense. Overall team defense has improved so much, it’s not just hot shooting winning games. This D is absolutely a real trend and sustainable. LaMelo in particular has gone from flat out bad defensively to above average. We have so much length we always should’ve been good defensively but it took time for guys to buy in and really hone in on it which they have.   3. Pretty much all our young guys have taken strides forward. Moose’s development as a passer has been insane, Miller is putting it all together to be an elite 3 tier scorer able to hit 3s, mid range and finish at the rim. LaMelo still some poor shot selection but has cut the turnovers considerably. Kon has been a great shooter all year but has steadily improved in other aspects of the game too.      It has definitely been surprising how quickly it all came together out of nowhere but really none of it surprises me. We’ve been building towards this for years now.
