If his knee is healthy it is healthy. When it is is healed it is healed.

Infuriating as it may be for him to get a new injury or the repair not hold up, you would at least know that you couldn’t count on the player before spending an offseason believing he was good to go..

it does happen to players through no one’s fault. Bodies are unique.

Had he been healthy, I would have been upset to spend a top two round pick on a RB. To spend it on a guy coming off a serious injury that cannot play is even more frustrating.

Oh well, it is what it is. Hopefully we can get a full rookie contract out of him and he is very productive before moving on.

It just seems so very Panthers to keep making these kind of mistakes over and over.

If he is 100%, I wouldn't mind seeing him in a few games in Dec.  But only if he is 100%

Depending on the scenario, sure. Get him up to speed with the team/scheme. If we have one of our RB's really rolling at that point, no reason to slow that down. Get him into the rotation, maybe. Or if our running game has been fairly pedestrian to that point, maybe see if he can inject some life into it.

Looks like our 3rd and 4th round picks are going to contribute more this year than our 1st and second

Maybe. That still remains to be seen.

They definitely seem to be further along, albeit in one case just due to injury.

I believe Brooks is the most pro-ready but RB generally has far less of a learning curve than most positions.

Who actually has looked worse than TMJ

You guys can do that, but I am not judging a rookies performance with the garbage coaching staff we had last year. Football is so fine tuned, you have to be put into a position to succeed no matter how good you are. Same thing we heard about Bryce, the offensive line and our WRs. We did nothing to play to their strengths ( or really even coach IMO ). These guys were all put into a position to fail.

    • This is the problem with Bryce Young.  We all see him have a very pedestrian performance and somehow think it's special.  That was a very, very average game.  There was absolutely nothing special about it.  It is a testament to how ungodly awful he is that when he goes out and has a middle-of-the-road performance that we view it as being spectacular.  The dude had 35 seconds and 3 timeouts to go 30 lousy yards and completely imploded.  He's absolutely terrible.
    • Coker and TMac are basically equals as #1s.  I like XL but he and Bryce aren't on the same page at all.  The pass to the end zone Bryce threw that was flat as hell and gave XL absolutely no chance to run under is a prime example.  I just don't know what it is, but every ball he throws in XL's direction is absolutely terrible.
    • I wouldn't say it's a foregone conclusion that he misses next season.  He may still be rehabbing for the first half of the season or so though.
