I'd rather watch paint dry than watch baseball. Hell, I'd rather watch Panthers football than watch baseball.

Ha I don't watch baseball like that either. Hell I'm only watching because Ohtani is having his first playoff series. He's been a no show so far.

I'm likely done watching after this series lol

I feel like baseball is a sport that you have to attend live. I hate watching it on tv but I love going to games.

I've seen people say that but I still don't get it. I've been to baseball games live and it's still the same boring poo. It's just an atrocious spectator sport IMO.

I like it in person because it’s slow enough that I can enjoy the company I’m with and my snacks lol. During football games I feel like I have to stay locked in lol.

I get it. I'd rather just hit up a brewery. Then you have the added bonus of not being annoyed by a baseball game.

It's supposed to be "slow". Like golf. Or soccer. It's not fast-paced like hockey or basketball, and it's not boiled down to just 17 critical games per year. But it's one of the hardest to play sports, and there is nothing like baseball playoffs in October. Crisp air, loud crowds, and each inning is a nail biter. I'll take it every time over the stop and start in play, commercial overload that is the NFL. But again, I'm on a football board so I'm not changing anyone's mind lol.

That said, my Yankees won a tough one tonight. One game away from the ALCS.

I will say this. I worked the scoreboard for a single A team when I was in college and it goes by much quicker when you are filling out your scorecard and also having to punch multiple buttons on the Daktronics key pad after one at bat.

There were times when poo like this happened.

- Hit runner to first, runner advances to second on throwing error, base runner on first thrown out at second, runner on third scores. And I’m sitting here like wtf… give me a second to key all that in.

One of my favorite aspects is that as long as there is no pitching change, you don't get a commercial until the inning is over. No matter how long it takes. Meanwhile in the NFL and the NBA ... oof.

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
