That's not true though?  Baker has a really strong arm.  I believe he currently holds the record for longest air yards pass in a game.  I could be mistaken but I'm fairly certain.  He's just always been known as an accurate dink and dunk guy since college.

he takes five steps for that

to give an extreme counter example, this got kyle boller drafted by brian billick

Didn't make it past that. Couldn't take anything beyond that seriously since Baker has a very good NFL arm. None of his struggles have been due to lack of arm.

naturally talented wasn't the right term, granted. obviously all these guys are naturally talented.

but baker isn't a big guy that can generate a ton of force, as evidenced as how he's played like complete poo in the past when he's had nagging injuries.

another comparison is vick, who probably had the strongest arm in nfl hsitory. i will never forget him in his rookie year against carolina rolling right out of the pocket and throwing a 50 yard dime TO HIS LEFT to bob christian who had waddled down to the goal line while vick just dodged every defender the panthers had.

That throw took a running start so not the best example. I think he has a much better arm than stated but the injury thing is also intriguing.

Yeah there's plenty of others, I was just giving Tr3ach a clip of the throw he was trying to remember. Unfortunately NFL is now cracking down on Twitter videos now that Musk monetized it so it's getting harder to find clips that will play embedded in the browser, any video stamped official NFL opens an X browser or takes you to the app now

Pie for 'waddled'.

vick was a freak; that's the point.

i've had masters level gross anatomy i can explain the concept of muscle insertion points and shoulder capsules to you at another time, if you'd like.

one of my favorite pieces of sports trivia is that vick was the number 2 highschool recruit coming out of virginia. the guy ahead of him was considered by many to be the biggest high school recruit of all time. without looking, who can remember who that was?

The kid that played basketball at UNC, right? Curry?

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
