I have accepted that Bryce is a bust

When there is a strong emotional attachment to a player, people will frequently see what they want to believe instead of believing what they see. They will see 2+2=5, believe it with every fiber of their being, and no one can talk them out of it despite of how truly wrong it is.

It’s a perspective that is 180 degrees out of phase. Sprinkle in some good old fashioned never-wrong-about-anything personality characteristics and you’ve got yourself a true Stan. Or team owner.

I just posted a very similar opinion, I very much agree with you.

I’ll never accept it as I watch the Texans be competitive.

That's the hardest for me. And he is operating with the chip on his shoulder that we were gonna take him and passed at the last minute. Every interview he did over the summer was how he thought he was going to Carolina. It's working out for him swimmingly in Houston, but he wanted to be here. Face palm emoticon.

A couple of things here for people who think he isn't. Or just for some validation.

Keyshawn totally speaks for me. Everything I thought, he says.

Merriman, is so wrong but he did not have the benefit at the time, of seeing Dalton with the same offense a few days later, and fell into the typically lame 'Panthers ruined him' trap. Which the Green Bay game totally debunks, but of course he probably didn't see that either.

The other one, just for some reinforcement. If you like the Falcons struggling, rewind 30 seconds.

Panthers way is to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. We could be heralded for such a sage move to get a future all pro. We could be set for a decade with the hardest piece to get in all of football. The trade could have looked like a bargain. Naw.

I tend to agree. I'm not seeing any more Bryce hangers-on in any sort of critical mass. There may be a couple that are more meh about him rather than being vehemently against him taking one more breath of Carolina air, but I wouldn't call that being a Bryce-stan. Even if there are a couple out there who still support him, even they will admit that he has been 180 degrees from what he was sold as.

That said, I've noticed more how this board has gotten (IMO) almost toxic towards him with the personal attacks. Yes he sucks and yes he has to be gone asap, but you would think he's the worst person (not just player) affiliated with the Panthers this century.

At risk of getting poo'd, that's not trying police or play hall monitor. Just an observation.

Exactly and I have noticed the same thing completely. You would think Bryce harmed someone people's loved one here or did something awful in some way by how toxic that hate for him truly is. Yes he sucks as an NFL QB but so would I and it is certainly not a reason to poo on him as a human being. Great point and great post.

    • They are 1 and 9 against the  Bucs in the past 10 games. the Panthers go as young goes.  QB1 ‘s are suppose to dictate and overcome  and elevate Everything the QB does affects every part of the team and Bryce is uneven. Canales and Bryce have  an uneven relationship too  as for Evero, the only thing that might save him is the injury to Baker’s left shoulder and oline injuries. I don’t even know how he is out there   I really feel their season ended last Sunday Canales’ division record isn’t great   Getting owned by the Saints and Bucs isn’t a good look
    • Frankly surprised by the amount of people that want to hang Evero. This was a defense that was almost universally considered the bottom of the barrel before this season started. We’ve managed to stat our way to the middle of the pack whatever that means. Those critical of the zone schemes, what do you want? When even JC is getting burnt one on one by Olave you have little choice. There definitely have been moments where the zone blitz stuff has bit us. That said, are the third string linebackers (and nick Scott) covering poo anyway? This unit had only conceded 10 points going into the fourth quarter despite a litany of bullshit penalties on both sides. Them over performing is the biggest reason we are still in playoff contention.
