Def Jewel was the MVP. IIRC he had a INT and a fumble recovery, or a forced fumble. Those were critical.

Chubba did really well but we're almost expecting that to happen.

Wonnum showed up.

Our rookies did okay but nothing spectacular. JT Sanders almost had another TD.

Bryce is managing the game but didn't put up great stats. Good decisions mostly,  did have a few errant passes. But no turnovers from him was a big plus.

I'd say a key stat to this game is Bryce went 1 TD 0 INT and Daniel Jones went 0 TD 2 INT

Winning this game dropped us all the way to #9 on the draft board for now.  The Giants also shot up to #1 on the draft board by LOSING to us. So it was a pretty damn important game for draft positioning. Giants fans are probably rejoicing that they're that much closer to replacing Daniel Jones.

Saints and Patriots also won, so it’s not a huge hit.

He will. That’s what PFR considers a GWD. I mean technically it is one.

Technically it is. Honestly he limited mistakes against a decent defense, so good on him. Their pass defense isn't bad at all, their scoring D is in the top 10. Their rushing defense blows, and we took advantage.

Yeah. Hell I’m always happy for a win and while Young is a mid- to upper-tier backup caliber player, he made some nice plays today, avoided the big mistake and deservingly won. The better team on the day got the win (unlike last night in MLS’ highway robbery)

Now that we've won 2 games, ive got no real idea of where we're going to end up.

We basically won against the two worst teams on our schedule. Gets harder from here on out so I don't expect them to win more than 2 more games. 5-12 probably gets us a mid round pick, 3-14 is probably top 10 or top 5.

I think winning today and getting to 3 wins basically ensured that we're not getting the #1 overall pick.

Nah. 99% chance the No. 1 pick goes to a three- or four-win team. Still very much in the hunt there and we still got to enjoy back-to-back wins.

something I noticed we play the buccaneers twice. Theyve been on a bit of a slide lately and divisional games can be toss ups (see the Saints beating the Falcons who had been red hot until losing today). I think the bucs would annihilate us if they had Evans and Godwin healthy

Mays didn't get ran over by Dexter, huge props

DJ Wom looked fresh and he made a real difference, what ifs....

Hubbard earned like 10% of that new deal- just a beast on a wet bad field.

94 Arob had a couple huge plays

Eddy hits a 53 longest of the year along with the pressured filled game winner.

Chuba, OL, Chuba, Wonnam, Chuba, Horn, Chuba. Bryce looked better at times but still far from “impressive”.  Missed numerous routine throws (worst was the pass to Chuba at the end to try to get a first and eat the clock, leading to the Giants sending the game to OT), some bad throws that got caught anyway, some bad decisions. Some solid throws too though.

    • I mean I just don't understand the argument. Baker and Sam both have been pro bowl QBs post their time here. And you just said yourself that is due to him having a damn good roster around him and they are well coached. You're even saying the bad baker is still there somewhere, but he is in a good organization with good roster and coaching that they are getting the best out of him. Why does Baker and Sam get all that benefit of the doubt but when it comes to Bryce it must be a BY9 problem, not an org or team problem?  Hell I got a guy below you arguing with me that Chark/Hurst/Mingo sucked because Bryce wouldn't throw them open. It's ridiculous how far the stretch goes.
    • Correct.  It’s really hard to get open in the NFL when opposing defenses gameplan and cheat coverage/routes on all your players because they know your QB can’t make certain throws/plays.   magically no one that comes to Carolina can get open or make plays with the ball in their hands…..it’s like there is one singular common dominator to it all.  BY makes playing defense way too easy.   NFL players are too good to allow one side to cheat coverage and not respect all the potential threats of a route  so you can dial up a great play.  But if corners and safeties just cheat coverage and know X and Y happening on route/threats….getting open gets hard when they just play it one way.  Getting open has a lot to do with the different threats a WR can pose on a given play.
    • Kinda depends how you look at it both were 3rd round draft pics.  Nico was nothing before stroud and tank came in with stroud.  If both were on the panthers would young have them doing well and starting or would their stats be low.  I really dont know the answer to that.  None of the panthers wrs have left and did well either but personally i feel neither of nico or tank would do much on the panthers.
