We will see what happens. This is likely his last contract, so he might want to get paid. If someone is willing to overpay($25 mil is that) then you just let him walk. We don't have enough cap space to be throwing out mega backup contracts to people that aren't Ian Thomas.

I doubt it's his last. There are plenty of teams looking for LTs and he's shown he can do the job. Linemen can play well into their 30's. Barring injury, I'd suspect this next one is his big 4 year contract and would be followed by a reserve role one after.

Well, as referenced in this very thread, there are only two active OL above 34 years of age. So, it is very possible that this could he his last contract, given that he will be 29 at the start of next season.

It's not on the radar, until it's a hole. Mind you, solid RT's are certainly easier to find than solid LT's. It's also an area where you should be able to get someone in the late 1st through early 3rd and have them potentially be starting caliber.

As for BC's contract, are you talking about with us or in general?

In general about BCs contract, I don't see panthers resigning him.

It's more than fair for you, I think you already stated 4-7mill per was your guess. He's on the bench currently which hurts his value and the bet is for 8 per no matter the team.

Deal?

    • Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.
    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
