Has this game changed feelings about Young?

You consider losing by multiple scores and being unable to manage additional garbage time points at the end of the game without throwing a very ugly interception on his final drive not only not folding but a sign of progress?

And if you remove the 83 yard touchdown pass in the 2nd quarter he had 136 passing yards for the game.

By your standad we might as well bring in Kyle Allen and give him another look.

Compared to weeks 1 and 2? Yes, this was light years better.

I'm not 100% sold on Bryce as the guy either, but the idea that the improvement we've seen since he returned to the lineup suddenly means nothing because of one bad game is dumb.

It was a bad game by the entire team, but Bryce has had far worse performances. I don't think this fundamentally changes the trajectory of his career; it was one game. If you were sold on Bryce before this game, you probably still are. If you were convinced he wasn't the guy before, you still feel the same.

And if you're like me and are hopeful, but not convinced yet, nothing has changed either. In any case, it was still only one game.

Bryce Young should have honestly been a 5th to 7th round draft pick to begin with taken into consideration his arm strength, size ,mobility/ ilusiviness or quickness, speed, weìght & height .& moreover that's why BY did not workout at the NFL draft combine because he already knew likewise that yes it would in fact affect his draft stock & be counterproductive to partcipate.& i feel like people who still support Bryce Youn̈g do not truly understand that you are not actually developing a  #1 overall draft pick when you take into consideration his skillset & ceiling

It re-reminded me that this is still a big man’s game. I still like him and his newly shown moxie, but with a very large bearing down on him, he will continue to be a fumble machine.

speed rush from blind side is a guaranteed strip sack.

What about being lightly tapped on the shoulder while diving

I don't blame people for not *giving up* on Young after this game, but realistically, this is much more similar to his career to date than the games vs KC and TB (imo his 2 best) were. That is what concerns me. This wasn't just a ho-hum meh kind of day, which tbh I was expecting (and how i'd describe NO and NYG), but it was a "wheels fall off, Young fugs the team over" kind of day (his opening drive fumble and opening half fumble absolutely ruined our chances of being competitive).  He wasn't alone in his sucking, no, but unlike, say, our OL which has played near the top of the league all year - he simply 'returned to form.'

If the lows are this low, his highs just aren't worth leaning / building a team around. Because although I really liked what he did vs TB and KC (and to an extent the Eagles, but I think we saw some cracks there too), he is ultimately severely limited in terms of physical talent and has yet to really deliver a total performance of a game.

Not saying cut him. I think he'd probably be a pretty good backup, tbh.  But let's start looking to rebuild our QB room this season and have a real competition in the offseason.

I do think it was a better punch than that, but imo that's irrelevant - the dude needs to fuging slide in that circumstance.  He's not getting a first down either way.

Defender did not make contact with the ball.

I’ve been slapped harder by women.

Not saying that Bryce played well or is without blame, but the entire OL scored in the 50s or lower.  The running game shut down--and the pass protection broke down.  I watched Ickey try to block Micah Parsons without extending his arms, bending at the waist, like he was going to shoulder block him or something. You do not block him well with good technique, but how in the hell did his brain tell him, "Ick, here's what we are going to do..."  Dumbassery!!!  So when the OL prevents you from running and they suck in pass protection, it is hard to look good as a QB.  Again, Bryce need to read the pressure and hit the open WRs. That pass to Thielen when Sanders was open tells me that he is predetermining who is going to throw to--not good.

Ehh 2 of our OL had 50-60s, which is not great comparatively but Bryce was a 39 and second lowest graded player on offense...

I do not understand why we weren't chipping edges etc, and we ran empty what seemed like far too often. I think the idea was to beat the rush with quick routes but man, several times rushers were practically unblocked...

Second bold is my concern. He did not read the field at all. He honestly was not reading the field well vs the Eagles either, tho he still was playing much better there.

    • Keep away from North Winston,  you should be fine. West Winston towards Clemmins is cool. If you're ever at the Peterscreek Walmart, the Pepsi guy is 😎.
    • Game-winning drives have been credited to QBs since the beginning of time
    • A lot of people have been slobbing all over this last draft but I hate the way that Fitterer/Morgan have built this offense since drafting Bryce. Anyone with eyes knew our IOL was crap but we didn't invest there and instead took project receivers and an injured RB. If you want a lesson in how build for your QB wrong, IMO, this was it. Draft him, protect him, THEN get him weapons. Its pretty much a rule, draft interior linemen, pay tackles. We're paying everyone. We had the opportunity to draft a center instead of Brooks, or perhaps instead of trading up for XL, trade back and take 2 guards/center. We could have paid Lewis and still drafted 2, but Hunt at 100m was just an overpay. And it's not like the guys many of us were begging us to draft were long shots. They're solid starters from day 1. Injuries happen. That's why all your starters can't be high value players. You need rookie contracts mixed in to be able to absorb those inevitable losses on the line. An offensive line playing an entire season together is an abnormality.  Factor into that also paying Moton 44m this offseason with a huge signing bonus when we didnt need to do right now to do him a "solid".  Now we have to sign Icky and possibly Bryce and it's a mess with more money tied up in the offense, inevitable cuts and dead cap coming. That's not even factoring in shifting Corbett to C last year after major injury to start at a position he's never played for an NFL season. It's all stuff that was foreseeable and pretty easily avoided.  The $$ and picks we've spent trying to surround Bryce outside of Tmac (Mitchell and Horn are TBD) have been used inefficiently IMO. Smarter drafting and FA with the line could have let us get more reliable weapons than XL and Sanders in FA. It might not be popular opinion, but I'll take a Bersin with hands that can get 6-8 85% of the time vs a big play XL with greasy fingers.  The part about hitting guys in stride was more about placement, which Bryce has struggled with. Obviously not every route is run to be hit in stride, but they do need to have the ball placed well to give the receivers a chance to do something after the catch. I just used Hill as an example because he's the biggest YAC threat I could think of over the past 5 years.   Receivers can feast on dink and dunk if it's schemed right. But to make it work, that vertical threat has to be there, if not the deep pass then the high speed routes that can spring someone for the huge YAC to keep the safeties from cheating into that 20 yard box all game.  I hope DC and Bryce can keep up what they did in the last game and it isnt just an Atlanta thing. But no matter what, I really want to see some better long term strategy coming from the FO.
