Never cared for the nfl but would watch highlights while catching up on ncaa action; usually knew the rookies and when i saw 89's first return go for a TD while living in Lejeune I had to keep looking in on him. Never looked away and now I have 'Lina blue walls over here.

:cheers2:

^ Exact same, even the town. Except mix Cowboys with Redskins as well.

I wasn't a Redskin fan but Darrell Green is my all time favorite player.

(I haven't been to Reidsville in 4 years, I need to go back and get me so Short Sugar's.)

They're not, but I got invited over here in 2005 from some of the fans and it turns out there's a lot of funny poo that goes on here and you guys are generally cool(even to us rivals) This board is probably the best board I've ever been on and the official Bears board sucked at the time. i rooted for the Panthers in 2003 in the SB and also after being on here I do root for the Panthers a lot more, just not when they play a certain team from the midwest that starts with a "C", ends with an "O" and has "HICAG" in the middle.

i was born and raised in myrtle beach, sc. i never liked any sports even though my grandfather religiously watched any sport on tv. then in 2003 when the panthers went to the superbowl i tried paying attention to football really hard and started to understand everything. then the next few years i was getting really really into it and learning all the players from all the teams. and in 2007 i became a die hard panthers fan. the main thing i love about the team is they are always always always an underdog. and everybody i know always talks down on Carolina about everything they do. and i always find ways to defend them :)

and now today, because the panthers went to the superbowl and i started paying attention to nfl. now im like a sports fanatic. i live for college football, basketball, nba, nfl. i love sports.

oh and im 21

I became a Panther fan after watching them lose their 3rd game to the Rams back in '95. I have been a Raider fan since I was 7, when they beat the Eagles in SB XV, and as I grew up I wanted an NFC team. One day I will see both my teams in the SuperBowl, one day...I almost went Giants, being from NY, almost went Dallas, the year they went 1-15 -the only team they beat that year was the Redskins, I can dig that. So I was still undecided and working on a tugboat in Morehead City, NC. Only had rabbit ears on the TV on the boat, but got to watch the game going home up the Intercoastal Waterway. Got home that night, told my Mom that the Panthers were my new team, and she loaded me up with Panther gear that Christmas. Going into the '96 season I was all about them, even had somebody call me a bandwagon fan 'cause they were winning, and they were quickly corrected by my friends, as I was hollering Carolina before the season started. They made that NFC championship run then and I have not looked back. I still dig my Raiders, its tough right now, but Carolina is more my team now that Oakland ever was...

3. Because I got tired of the roller-coaster ride that is being a Skins fan.

So being a Panthers' fan is like a driving a Mercedes on the Autobon; a smooth thrilling ride?

I got your point, ex-Skins fan here too. But outside of ownership, the Panthers haven't the model of consistancy.

I started playing football in highschool, but i never had a team, didn't like the chargers, even though i'm from Cali. But i was a huge fan of Steve Smith since i'm undersized and he was undersized, but he teared through everyone. Started to watch the Panthers more and i realized they were kind of an underdog team especially in 03. And just started to watch the panthers more and more and realized how i loved how they played. So thats that!

    • I think everyone says Mike Evans because of size, but really they have different strengths and play styles.  Tmac is better on intermediate routes and not nearly as good at contested catches.
    • At this point, it is criminal to go into the 2026 training camp/OTA's with XL penciled in as a #2 WR. The team must upgrade, either through free agency or the draft. If he cannot give 100% effort on significantly less snaps as a #4-6 WR(players like Tremayne have done that consistently) then I don't think you have a player worth rostering beyond the trade deadline. Offensively, we eventually have to upgrade to an NFL starting caliber C. It's been almost the length of time from Gross to Ikey since Kalil retired and we have below average to terrible C play. Love Mays as a BC-esque utility backup but he will never be an above average long term starting C.  The TE room is one of the worst in the NFL but it's a low usage position in this offense, so the investments are likely to be small, if any. I would never expect to see an elite TE in a Dave Canales offense. 100% agree on OL depth. We actually aren't bad there but BC will be gone, Mays is a UFA, Corbett is a UFA and Zavala has been both injured and bad. We have to bolster that depth again or resign guys like Mays and Corbett to keep that depth somewhat stable.
    • Bingo. The dude is a baller no doubt and I'd love to have him in a vacuum but like you said he's gonna fetch a haul so the only teams it really makes sense for are teams with an overall good roster who they feel an edge rusher like Crosby would out them over the top in terms of competing for SBs. I'd be looking st teams like the Pats, Bucs, Ravens, Seahawks, etc. It wouldn't be shocking to see him moved. He may be more valuable to a rebuilding team in the form of the draft assets he'd fetch than he is on the field. He should still have several more good years in the tank at 28 but by the time the Raiders can reasonably expect to rebuild he's gonna be on the decline.
