Just seems like they have figured out how to remove the dumb.  Sam Darnold as most have always said, was a super physically talented football player.  He potentially could of purused other postions he had so much talent. Which we don't have right now.  The Darnold and Young critiques don't run that similar.  Most of Sam's critiques were about his decision making.  Most of Youngs are about his physical tools.

I don’t know about the multiple positions things, as far as I know he always played qb in HS. He did play multiple HS sports and played them WELL. he was a top baseball recruit too which isn’t really the norm anymore. Bryce for example spent every second from middle school forward in elite invite only qb camps. Darnold just didn’t have a lot of reps at qb when coming out of USC, then went to an awful situation, then went to another awful situation. But he was clearly putting it together at the end of 2022, that saints game not withstanding.

im not saying 2023 panthers San darnold would be the same as he with the Vikings. I am saying rolling with the 2022 team absolutely has the panthers in a better position any way you look at it than the ongoing bryce disaster.

Darnold was orginally recruited to USC to play linebacker.   That was peak USC too.  Very physically talented athlete.  Textbook stud HS athlete.  He played LB, WR and QB.

The “see, I told you so” crowd always seems to have never, in fact, told us so — and they really don’t like it when a five-second Google search of year, site and username puts the back-patting to a stop.

You've got a whole lot to say for someone that less than three weeks ago was upset your Bryce Young takes were getting blowback.

Seven people took me saying "Bryce Young's doing a good job, but he needs to be challenged next year" as a personal affront, because it wasn't anointing him as the presumptive league MVP like they demand. Weird people.

Reading this it’s funny. He played LB and WR his freshman year and USC was like “yeah sure.” Switched to qb? “Yeah sure.”

shades of Alabama recruiting eighth graders as “athletes” and worrying about the position they’ll play later.

Google makes things pretty easy to find. And I’m simply presenting what was said. If you have an issue with that, perhaps you shouldn’t have said it.

For my opinion. I still don’t think Mayfield is that good — like many, he puts up his best stats against all-time weak defenses. Darnold was alright here and I was fine with keeping him in a backup role.

You have no posting history to look back on through literally years of suckage but you want to be indignant toward others. I see nothing but a coward but you do you.

Might as well head to the Jets and Browns message boards and clown them because they let Darnold and Mayfield go.

I feel like the Jets, Browns and Panthers all share something in common and.....and that's the real story.  And it isn't Sam and Mayfield played between the 3.

Ultimately I think there's a good chance sooner or later we are going to see the full spectrum of both Mayfield and Darnold in the playoffs against much tougher competition. That is the good the bad and the ugly.

A suggestion so pitiful it speaks for itself

We're desperate for even vague competitiveness and a hint of playoff hopes so Baker and Sam look like Brees and Brady to us but like I said above I'll be surprised if they go far in the playoffs. If you watch them play you can still see glimpses of the same QB's and how they will fair against stout teams with playoff experience will tell us where they really are.

    • I'm happy with TMac, but Tyler Warren was last season's Tyler Linderbaum for me in that he was at a position that wasn't one of the five pillars but he was the best player at his position AND one of the top talents in the draft. I cannot fuging wait for the Panthers to start winning again so that those guys fall to us like they seem to for teams like Baltimore & Philadelphia.
    • Still working on consuming all of these so I don't have summaries available, but I figured there might be another Huddler or three trying to kill time before tonight's final preseason game.   Panthers Blueprint: Training Camp The in-house produced Blueprint series has given behind-the-scenes look on the field and off. Start the day with Robert Hunt's family, be in the morning meetings, mic'd up players during practice (Jaycee, Rozeboom, Icky, and Bryce), roster evaluations by the staff, and plenty of camp highlights capping off with FanFest.   Processing Blue (Mike Kaye & Alex Zietlow Mike and Alex are back talking about a variety of topics including but not limited to: joint practice + preseason game vs. Houston, Trey Hendrickson trade rumors involving Carolina, training camp awards, draft pick draft, and various thoughts about the team.   Jordan & Jake 706: Opening Day Another in-house Panthers' production, the most recent episode of Jordan and Jake talk about how to properly balance intensity in practice, react to the starters being shutdown for the preseason finale, share their thoughts on the newest Panther QB, and more.   Raw Room - Ep 278 - Gas Pedal (ft. Mike Davis) Assistant special teams' coach Darren Bates' Raw Room podcast has former Panthers' RB Mike Davis on his weekly podcast. I'm about halfway through this one and it's been a lot of fun. The Raw Room guys (DB, his friend Alex Sweets, former Eagles/Chargers OT King Dunlap, and former Atlanta DB Jalen Collins) are hilarious and Mike fits right in. They talk about his football experience coming up, decommitting from Florida and how he decided on South Carolina, and more. Warning: If you're the type of person that is easily distracted by accents, despite XL being on the team, you might have issues with understanding the Memphis dialect. If you don't care about how somebody talks, just what they're talking about, tune in!
    • Allen was borderline unplayable in College.  He's an absolute unicorn in terms of his career panning out the way it has.
