What did you get right and what did you get wrong?

Nailed

- 2-5 wins

- Worst roster talent-wise we have fielded in franchise history

- The rookie draft class would be largely ineffective.

- Corbett would inevitably get injured and we would have to scramble at Center.

Whiffed

- Bryce would lose his starting job and be gone in 2025.

- Jalen Coker was another Huddle UDFA pipe dream.

- The OL would be significantly worse than expected after the offseason signings.

- Jaycee Horn would miss significant time during the season due to injury.

I stuck with Vegas at 4.5 wins.

Agreed on overall talent. Have not changed that opinion for 7 years now.

Same on the rookie draft class.

Same on Colbert.

Whiffed on:

Bryce being done here.

Coker being anything special.

Defense being a push from last year.

Chubba breaking 1000 yrds for the season.

Bo Nix (so far)

Yeah, I was also not high on Nix. It sucks he is doing well. Nothing against him, obviously but fug Denver and fug Pill Payton.

I called between 4 and 6 wins and wanted to see improvement the second half of the season while being competitive in games we lose.

We have done both things. That's all I wanted. This was a house money year for Dave and Dan. I am satisfied. Build on it, get to 7-9 wins next season while being in the fight for a wildcard spot.

There's hope for the first time in years.

Depends on how the ball bounces and luck of a season.

Somewhere between 3-5 wins.

Nice!

Season: 4-13

Offense will improve slightly with Bryce playing better but not enough to convince fans and pundits that he is "The Guy." OL proves disappointing as injuries eventually become a factor.

Defense takes a step back, as the lack of depth and talent stand out. Not a precipitous drop off but noticeable as the season progresses.

Canales gives us a glimmer of hope but the offseason/draft moves temper that by proving to be a very mixed bag that sows doubt about Morgan's ability to improve enough upon the mess Fitterer left.

That's my overall season prediction.

Damn, that was more accurate than I remembered. The OL and "not precipitous drop off" are obviously way off.

I was/am still disgruntled about how bad the 2024 draft was.

I was a Bryce guy pre-draft but I had admittedly lost all faith in him after last year. He doesn't have me completely back but I like what I see. It just has to keep getting better and I will be back.

found the bigger thread.

O takes a step forward

D a step backwards

End result is a team that is picking in the top 10.  Who knows how the ball bounces.  I'd say about 5ish wins.

    • I'm not a Bryce hater and I would 100% move on.  Especially looking at how the upcoming qb draft looks on paper.  Hopefully he continues to improve but if in 3 seasons you're still chasing average season numbers then he's not going to be the guy.  You've just got to keep taking swings until you hit.  Average qbs without any elite physical traits cant get it done anymore.  So this year Hopefully he continues to develop and is above average statistically.
    • Meltdowns???? He was pulled by Canales because he wasn't executing the game plan after 2 games into the season so he could watch Dalton execute the offense and show Bryce the windows available in the NFL, how to push the ball down the field and how to step up and move around when blitzed. When Young came back 5 games later he clearly watched and improved. Enough he was named the future starter. He doesn't have a history of  meltdowns nor is there any reason to assume he will have one. From what I have read he is mentally strong and emotional stable. He may have bad games down the road, everyone does. But this is all a learning experience for him and so far he seems to be making progress. I can understand being hesitant on anything Panthers, but Young has surprisingly been able to gain his confidence after a disastrous start. You aren't alone in being cautious but I think he is the future. I thought he was too small and too short to succeed in the NFL. Honestly I was pleasantly surprised last year and am optimistic about the offense for the first time since Wilks and Dalton were decent.
    • The Rams wanted to trade up for Williams who they ended up within the end. They even told him that when they called him to let him know he is the pick. The other teams are only an assumption. Like the Cowboys, who took a guard. The truth is the team wanted to trade down first and foremost but couldn't get an offer the were happy with. They took McMillan because they felt he was bpa at 8 plain and simple.
