REPORT: Dolphins were interested in trading for Andy Dalton

Must have offered something like a 6th. Andy was probably our starter when they turned it down. Idunno but I wonder if they asked bout Byrce?

Interested in seeing our future plans with Dalton.

I'd imagine Morgan wouldn't want him going to another team and turning into the 3rd version of the Darnold/Baker leave CAR and transform experiment.

Big difference in stages of career between Dalton and those two.

I bet they are glad they didn't now.

I bet the opposite. They're sitting at 8-8 and still sitting at #2 on the playoff bubble. They went 1-3 in the games Tua missed. Just one more win and they'd be tied with the Broncos at 9-7, not sure who would hold the tie breaker between them but just one more W would be huge for them right now. Not sure what we were wanting versus what they were offering but if they'd had a crystal ball and knew they'd be right at the threshold of qualifying for the playoffs going into the final week of the season I'm sure that would've changed their calculus.

Andy is an old man vs them.  Andy got 40 in his sights.....those dudes are in their 20s still.

True.. I keep forgetting he was drafted in the Cam class.

Hell I just remembered Baker and Darnold were in the same class... + Lamar and Allen. It just might not be too late for somebody to take another chance on Rosen.

    • Basically agree.  He is the one of that bunch that offers upgraded pass catching along with he is supposed to be kind of special.   Then you have the OL and the ideas that if they perform you can have JAG backs and still do well. So okay we could be fine.  But Brooks is important and to me that receiving element sets him apart.  So there sure is something riding on him.     What strikes me as incongruent is people over in Atlanta or those that follow them look at Penix with a third surgery and act like it is no big deal.      And we are on pins and needles over Brooks.  Either they should worry a lot more or we should worry a lot less.
    • I usually go a game or two optimist over the consensus here but this is too early for me to say. I need to see some players on the field.  I am not feeling real optimistic though.
    • Okay as a ‘take CJ’ fan I actually don’t obsess over CJ and Houston, contrary to the narrative.  But I thought I picked up some noise that his OL left a lot to be desired.    Not a single Beyce supporter would judge him harshly if he had a crappy OL. We all know that.    So be fair about it.  A QB needs to be protected.  Especially a guy that gets to his spot and wants to finish the play from there. Which CJ is.
