... Whispers...Drew Breese played in a real conference, ans didn't face Todd, the beer pong champion of Furman, as his toughest opponent...Also, did 89 play qb in college ?

Teams App State played in the last few years...

NC State, East Carolina, LSU, Michigan (you may have heard something about this game on ESPN)

Let me put something into your imagination:

Edwards under center, Deangelo and Stewart split behind him, with Smitty on the outside.

How does a defense guard against that?

I'm not saying Edwards will play QB, but I have no doubt he will see some time in that spot running the wildcat.

I wouldn't put too much stock in us using a lot of wildcat this season given that one of our division rivals essentially showed the world last year that it's pretty easy to blow up with a heavy blitz (something at which they're very good).

Yes, it could be different with Edwards, but that's not really something you want to have to depend on.

Now a handoff to Edwards followed by him passing downfield - the way the Steelers used to do with Hines Ward and before that the Giants with Dave Meggett - that I could see.

News flash ...Pat White blows and last time I checked Edwards weighed in at 180.. trading up for this guy was unwarranted and irresponsible. What does he really bring?

Yeah, the Panthers could never get a productive WR that only weighs 180 lbs. Oh wait, there's that guy Steve Smith.

CJ Spiller went 9th overall and McCluster and Arenas both went in the second.

Guys with dynamic return value were at a premium this draft even if they didn't have a full time position. Edwards most likely wouldn't have been there at our fourth pick.

Questionable pick without losing next year's second, bad pick losing next year's second. That is the only knock I have with the first six picks. (Can't stand the 3 DBs, BTW).

The thing is, if the Panthers had gone in to Day 2 with two thrid round picks, then traded next years 2nd to move to the top of this years 2nd to pick Clausen, then ended up with LaFell and Edwards with the two third round picks, everyone would be ok with it.
