Jim Clausen video(Perfect Game)

That throw at 4:15 was a combination of arm strength and accuracy that most NFL QB's can't match. He dropped that ball over heads behind enemy lines to a spot with so much velocity that only his guy could make the play. One hell of a throw.

Claussen looked to have good footwork, looked good going through progressions, and got the ball out quickly. He is like Jake Delhomme if Jake had good footwork, went through progressions and got the ball out quickly.

ROFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We got that kid in the second round of the draft!!!!!AAAAAAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHHAAHAAAHHAHAH

GM's from all over the league are going to lose their jobs for passing on this guy. Unbelievable, I hope that he is as good as he looks to be. I also hope he is as big of a douchebag as he has been made out to be.

There were lots of screens and flats there. Mind you, you can't blame calling those plays though (I don't even know if he did) it worked well that game given the strength of his WR's. I was really impressed by the long balls too. Great reads, fantastic accuracy, enough strength to get the ball there with room to spare. That throw to Tate at the corner of the end zone while being double covered? That was a PERFECT throw.

No doubt Clausen has great talent for sure. Huge upside, he attacks the field vertically. You can see it in his eyes and body language when he throws, its a beautiful pass and it looks like its going to be complete every time. How this guy slipped out of the top 10 is beyond me, he is as natural a passer as Ive ever seen. You can see why this guy was the #1 recruit coming out of high school and you can see why Hurney had a perma-grin on his face when talking about Clausen after he selected him.

Have you ever thought that Matt Moore is signed to a one year deal for a reason? The Clausen pick pretty much is insurance for Matt Moore being a bust or leaving us next year.

MM signed his franchise tender, nothing more, nothing less.

The Clausen pick was BPA and had nothing to do with MM being a possible bust, which IMO he can't be called at this point.

i don't understand the line of reasoning of some fans, moore is the starter until proven otherwise, he was offered a very good tender IMO considering the little time he has played. he will start unless clausen is light years ahead of him by end of training camp. the one thing we can safely say about moore is he doesn't take the chances that dehlomme took which reduce big plays but also reduce turnovers . this is what fox wants, take care of the ball and make plays when they are available

    • There are people on this forum that just want to see a lot of passing yards....number go up. That's all it is, really. They are thirsting for a 350-400 yard game. The idea that Jameis Winston is going to come in and play like a star and lead us to wins is ludacris. He's the 3rd fuging string for a 2-5 team and has played horrible for years now. Sure, passing numbers will go up but you'll also get a lot of dumb plays, pick 6's, and incompletions en route to a frustrating bad offensive performance, just in a different way. I think these people are yearning for another Delhomme situation, and the odds of that happening are very very slim. It's way more likely Howell or Jameis comes in and looks like Jack Plummer or Andy Dalton did in the preseason. There just isn't that much good quarterbacking in this league right now. And if we draft another QB in the first round, there is a good chance they bust. It's not a guaranteed carrot. The reality is, as mediocre as Bryce has been, the risk of bringing someone else in in-season and releasing Bryce becuase you aren't happy with his current performance is staggeringly high. Don't want to re-up his contract and search for a solution in the offseason? Sure, I'm on board. Bryce hasn't been good enough to warrant a second contract. But It is very. very unlikely that bringing someone else in midseason is going to give this team more wins.
    • I told somebody that today, the old QB adage. If you have two you don't have one. People forget when we had Double Trouble, there still was a clear edge of carry volume going to D-Lo until his departure. NFL is cut throat and if it takes us eventually bailing on Chuba to feature Rico, that decision may have to be made.
    • Exactly zero people on the coaching staff or front office are hoping the Panthers get utterly destroyed. This is why people can't take the constant Bryce bashing seriously. Get a clue
