overall record exluded, what are your 2010 panther predictions?

Recommended Posts

time to have a little fun...make a prediction about the offense, defense, and special teams.

1. panthers will lead the league in sacks, but won't have a single player that's a league sack leader.

2. jonathan stewart continues his record breaking pace and smashes deangelo williams's 1515 yrd 18 td 3rd season record.

3. the special teams unit shows flashes of improvement and excitement, but still ranks in the bottom half of the league.

1. Matt Moore is in the discussion for MVP along with Peyton Manning and Drew Brees.

2. Double Trouble become the first RB duo to rush for 1,200 yards each.

3. Steve Smith wins the "triple crown" for the 2nd time in his career.

4. Everette Brown makes the fans forget Peppers ever played here.

5. Beason finally shows people across the country he's better than that 49ers LB.

6. Oh yeah and we win the Super Bowl by beating the Ravens.

1. We go 11-5

2. Matt Moore has a year with a QB Rating of > 99.0 again, but for a whole season.

3. Williams & Stewart will both have good years, but only 1 will top 1,000 yards (Williams)

4. We will be better at run defense, but struggle more on sacks (also pass defense will struggle at times b/c of this)

5. Beason will make pro bowl

I'll propose my own later on (in the day), but I call B.S. on #2.

LaFell will win the number two spot.

Edwards will get significant playing time, and when he's in Smitty will move inside to the slot. People on the Huddle will wonder why LaFell is starting over him.

Clausen will start at least one game because Moore's hurt.

Moore will be more focused than ever, and will actually play better than ever in the eyes of the coaching staff, but won't approach his 2009 success and ignorant fans will start a bunch of "Start Clausen" threads by week eight.

Stewart will get more yards than Williams.

Both lines stay healthy all year, and Kalil goes back to the pro-bowl.

Norwood disappoints at linebacker, where he's a liability in coverage. But he makes plays as a pass rusher.

Hardy makes at least one freakishly athletic play that reminds people of Peppers.

Chicago and Cleveland both do unexpectedly well, leading to a chorus of "Fire Hurney" from the ignorant and uninformed.

Fox gets an extension, but the Panthers miss the playoffs at 9-7.

1. We will run one back on either a punt return or kickoff, but not both.

2. We will give up a TD on special teams early, but steadily improve.

3. Smith will get double digit TDs, Jarrett will get his second and third. Barnidge will emerge as a downfield threat reminiscent of Jason Witten.

4. Moore will play pretty well when he doesn't press and try and make something happen. Problem is he is involved in shootouts early.

    • Think the "official time" put out was 4.48, but there were a lot of scouts there who of course all had difference times as it's all handed timed by them.  Think I saw it as low as 4.43 and as high as 4.62 or something, but in the end it's all basically the same speed because 40 yard dash is so pointless. Anyone who complains about his speed is just someone who wants a Chase/Jefferson/Nabers style #1 as opposed to an Evans style #1 who isn't going to beat you because of his speed but his other abilities. In the end, he's fast enough for a player his size and surprisingly quicker and more agile than people give him credit for too. The real problem is that Panthers fans can't get our past big WR failures out of their head, they hear "big WR" and automatically see a plodding KB or Jarrett in their minds and assume that's also T-Mac.
    • If you are buying Silver Club, 300 level, try and the buy ones that have the Lot 1 parking pass.  it is steps to the stadium Also, buy on the shade side my PSls used to be section 342, under the overhang.  I didnt care about sun or rain plenty of sites have interactive  maps that can show you   Just know, if they are opposite side of 342, the sun will beat on your head…endzones too.   if, you know for sure that you are going, and you need a hotel room, do it now  you can always cancel … remember, even if the panthers suck,  the national press follows them as do their fans.  Hotel rooms go fast for that game
    • didn't he run like a 4.52?
