Drinking the Eric Norwood Koolaid

Recommended Posts

Its no secret that I am a huge Gamecocks fan. I really think Norwood will develope in to a great player for the Panthers. Not really sure on where they will play him or how they will use him.

Maybe get him to gain weight and be a pass rushing DE or use him at LB somewhere. All I know is from what I watched for all four years at SC is that he is always around the ball and plays with great intensity.

Any thoughts on where the Panthers might use him?

They will use him as a 3rd down pass rusher. He doesn't have the coverage skills for a strong side LB, also there is already a competition between Connor and Anderson for that position. We don't run a 3-4 so he can't be like Demarcus Ware or Terell Suggs and put his hand on the ground every few plays. He selected #92 (Lineman or Passrushing LB number). I am pretty sure you will see his hand on the ground more than him standing up. I look forward to some production from him this season.

although his coverage skills are not his strength right now let's also remember that thomas davis wasn't good in coverage when he first came here. i see playing SLB on some plays and rushing the passer on third and long

    • I was playing around with the ESPN playoff predictor and it shows if 49ers and Rams finish with same record, the Rams hold the tiebreaker.
    • This is my thinking as well. Seattle played as good as they could on defense and Panthers still had a chance until those back to back turnovers.  I don't think the Rams played particularly well in their game against us, alot things went our way in order to win.  Someone pointed out the Rams were bad on the east coast road games and Seattle has been the better road team but they just fought a hard contested game against the Panthers, and now they travel to San Fran this week for their biggest game of the season to determine the division and if they are the overall #1 seed in the NFC or will be traveling for the Wildcard weekend.  If they lose they then travel back cross the country to play a team they've just beaten two weeks ago, not saying they won't be favored against the Panthers but the energy of hosting our first playoff game in 10 years along with the get back effect of having just lost to this team could be huge.
    • I don’t know about shadowing and all that, but according to this, whatever we are doing is working
