Gross already came out imo and sweetly worded that Clausen could have rubbed people the wrong w/ the moment he was drafted overstepping things a bit. He knocked him and complimented his texting which to me was a knock.

He posts something from a "source" then keeps pushing the issue by calling the players liars for disputing him. He has done it for a LONG time.

When smitty hit lucas rememeber his "Panthers D is going to retaliate" posts ?

PFT starts out this morning with all these Moore/Clausen articles and when that doesn't get any traction they come up with this "Smitty called Clausen a punk" angle from an "unnamed source". Mission accomplished for Florio, he's going to get many more hits on his site and he's already being booked for TV and radio appearances to discuss this "story".

Smith may have called Clausen a punk, but he says he didn't so we have to decide who to believe. If Smith thought Clausen was a punk, he wouldn't have gone on ESPN first take yesterday morning and said all those positive things about him. I don't think Smith is good at hiding his feelings about someone and I don't think he gives false praise (ask Dwayne Jarrett).

I mean this is Steve Smith. From year 1 up until last year he gives plenty of reasons to think he has temper problems and a big mouth. I am just saying what is suggested isn't absurd. Steve doesn't get along w/ everyone. We know that. I think it is more of case of too much media making a story out of eveything...than it just being made up. Who cares if he called him a punk. Jordan Gross just said a lot of guys thought he was arrogant by his actions and then fluffed it. No big deal.
