It was blatantly obvious at Carolina’s minicamp a couple weeks ago that Moore wasn’t thrilled the Panthers had added Clausen. That’s understandable because Clausen is an instant threat to the starting job Moore wants.

“It was unexpected, there’s no doubt about that, but, you know, nothing we can do about it now, and just keeping working hard and moving forward said in an interview on SIRIUS NFL Radio. “And I know he’s going to do the same. He had a heck of a minicamp, came in here and was very impressive.’’

No offense to Clausen, and I'm glad the Panthers got him, but how can anybody not pull for Matt Moore?

BTW, Moore just shot another hole in Florios' report. If anybody would know how Clausen behaved at mini camp, it would be the other QB's who were with him pretty much the whole time on and off the field.

But I always know, regardless of who it is, if it’s Jimmy or if it’s somebody else, The Golden Calf of Bristol or whoever it is, somebody’s creeping up your back.

Exactly. Clausen's surely creeping up his back quicker than Cantwell or Pike would, but every QB should know he has to get the job done if he wants to keep it.

I really like his responses in this article. Hopefully Clausen is hard at work making efforts to change his image too.

You gotta pull for Matt. If Clausen looks like he's going to be a successful QB though, I think Moore might be gone when his contract is up, especially if he has a good season. Hopefully we can eventually trade one of them for some value.

Matt Moore is going to do well regardless. As far as the NFL is concerned he is officially on the radar. If not here he will do well somewhere, his time has come.

He isn't Superman, man.

But I think this QB compeition is going to be interesting. If Clausen can get the hang of the offense this season & show he is better, he will be the starter & our franchise QB that could last longer here than Jake and Steve did here.
