Position Breakdown against the Falcons.

QB = Falcons = Matt Ryan has more game time and exp. then any of our QB's. Matty Nice could change this if he keeps playing like he did the end of last season.

RB = Not even Close Panthers = all day and twice on sunday.

FB = Falcons = I guess with Sneeling

TE = Falcons = Tony G is a all time great and still good but we really don't use our TE as much as they do.

WR = Panthers = #89 is the best in the south and we are younger at the position then they are. Micheal Jenkins still can't put up better numbers then a 80 year old Moose so after the White they have as many ? marks as we do at this position Panthers win this.

OLine = Panthers = all day 2 Probowlers (Gross, Kali). Our RT is better then their LT and Warton doesn't get the credit for how good he really is.

Dline = Falcons = for now because we lost JP but Abe is old Bab's is a pot head and E brown in 1 season (partime role) has just as many sacks as Jamal Anderson in 3-4 years.

Bab's is the best DT right now but P Jerry has done just as much as Corvey and coming off a injury. CJ and Brayton had just as many sacks as Abe and the rest of their DE's.

LB = Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! not even close Panthers in a landslide = I would also like too point out that their 1st round draft Pick OLB (W Spoon) doesn't even have bettter # then our 4th round Pick OLB (Norwwod) who played in a better league against Pro talent every Sat.

CB = Panthers = I would put Gamble up against D Rob all day they are even in my book. Then Marshall is better then anybody they can put on the other side dam Capt. might be better then anybody they can put on the other side.

S = Even = Decloud had a good year but Moore has done nothing yet Martin made just as many plays in a short time as Decloud did all season and Goddfrey got better at the end of the season them togehter made alot of TO thur out the season. That's why I think this is even both our safeties have played and are very young. Right now all they have is Decloud.

SPTeams = Panthers = The firing of Crossman and we have spent all our FA time on improving the SPteam. So we better be the best at this poo!!!!!

Falcons fan my live in that fog (from ATL) and think they have more talent then us but the fact is they don't even with us cutting cost and going young. Our Talent is still good and more then enough too beat them twice this year. :biggrin5::biggrin5::biggrin5:

I would give WR to the falcons smitty can't cover up the horrilbe depth.

I would call CB a tie too.

1st Moose had 58 rec for 581yards and 1td

their 2nd wr Jenkins had 50rec for 635yds and 1td

This is last year and Moose is 10years older then Jenkins so how horrible is their depth at WR. Smith alone wins this position.

Now CB

Gamble 58 tkl 0 FF and 4 Int's

Marshall 88 tkl 0 FF and 4 int's (by the way we really need too give Richard his money)

Capt. 44tkl 1 FF and 0 Int's

Dunta 64 tkl 1 FF 0 int's

Grimes 66 tkl 0 FF 6 int's

I don't know who their 3rd would be but I'll take our CB over theirs anytime.

Richard Marshall holds two of three interceptions the Panthers have collected from Mr. Ryan.

Don't forget the interception that Marshall had two years ago against Ryan that was brought back by a complete BS late hit call on Peppers (made by Mr. Hochuli).

    • I will as soon as you withdraw your fandom from the Patriots. Informative threads are great but all of these estrogen and emotion driven threads you start are ridiculous.
    • Will be there tonight and expect nothing from the Canes. They are soft and won't go after anyone, nor will they respond when, not if, Florida starts bullying them. Not to mention Freddie is in net. I fear this will be an ass-kicking.
    • Is this not a bit contradictory?  Also surely if any of us are smart enough to evaluate what we're seeing in real time, a former NFL QB can at least manage the same.  Especially considering he's basing his analysis on hours (maybe generous?) of reviewing All-22 footage which he can play back over and over again, focusing each time on different position groups, match-ups, progressions, etc. which is simply impossible for a fan to fully assess in real time.  Unless you're actually at the game, we basically only get the QB/O-line in frame during the broadcast and even in that limited window of the field, there is simply too much happening.  I'm usually broadly focusing on Bryce, maybe peeping the footwork (or lack thereof) and just the overall pocket and whether there is any pressure coming.  I'm not able to watch every individual one-on-one o-line match-up on top of it to see who got beat, who didn't pick up a blitz, which o-lineman didn't shift to help double-team, or whatever else. I think the truth is somewhere in between (as is almost always the case).  Knowing the play call, audible, etc. is pretty important when judging individual performances, which is why we should always take PFF grades with a grain of salt.  But yeah we can also get a pretty good overall sense of how a player is performing just from watching the game on the couch on Sundays.  I still think there's a lot of value in a review video like this.  As long as you have the bare minimum media literacy to take the interesting insights while also acknowledging inherent biases from a video like this (i.e. obviously focusing on the good over the bad).
