Who Reports this crap?

From The Rapid Reports on The Carolin Panthers Page @ CBS Sportsline:

With RB Jonathan Stewart still nursing a foot injury, second-year RB Mike Goodson is getting his fair share of reps in practice. He's looking really good. Goodson, a third-round pick in 2009, played well at the end of last season after DeAngelo Williams went down.

Goodsen only played in games 16 and 17 last year where he rushed for 46 yards of off 18 attempts and caught a pass for 13 yards against the Giants who had given up and the Saints b-teamers. Maybe the reporter thought he was filling out his jersey rather nicely last year? Matching shoes perhaps?

With CB Richard Marshall back in the fold, Carolina's first-team secondary is looking like this: Marshall and Chris Gamble as the starting CBs, with Sherrod Martin at SS and Charles Godfrey at FS. The NB is Captain Munnerlyn.

Ok so maybe Richard Marshal is going to start playing more man but honestly, combined with last report it looks like this whole thing was just phoned in. Marshal always plays the nickel.

I guess I'm just saying that the world of sports reporting is oversaturated and mostly bs. I really just need to stick with Pat Yasinskas and this site for my Carolina news. I guess I should have already known this...

Actually what you mentioned they were wrong about wasn't accurate and what they screwed up you missed.

Marshall plays CB for us not nickel and we play more cover 2 (zone) than man. And you didn't mention that they were wrong in that Martin will play FS and Godfrey is moving to SS.

Just sayin....................................

I would actually like to correct you correcting another poster. The original poster was actually right, Marshall does play the Nickel position during Nickel packages. He moves from CB2 to Nickel, into the inside, to play against the slot who is usually a burner like the Welkers and what-not in the league, while munnerlyn either handles their Number 2 or if the number 2 is just wayyyy too tall he moves to the number 1 and gamble handles the number 2.

Actually I disagree. We played tampa 2 as our base around 50% of the time (sometimes zone under, sometimes man under). We played cover 1 rover around 25% of the time and the rest- cover 3, cover 4, cover 5, the other 25%.

Just sayin....................

Since we only play the nickel around 20-25% of the time and the other 75% of the time we play some version of the cover 2, he is listed as the second corner and plays that most of the time. Munnerlyn did switch off and play the second corner on some of the nickel packages only because Marshall was better at it (munnerlyn was still learning) and against specific guys. But unlike a nickel Marshall started the game at corner and played all game.

So I was correct and your correction of me correcting him who corrected the original writer was incorrect.:D
