OK…OK…I give….I was wrong. There was no putting down of Edwards ever on this forum, just of the front office, the school I attended and played at in the 80’s and the level of competition Edwards played against. I believe one member called it “4 more years of high school”. I guess that ticked me off a little since there have been plenty of successful players in the NFL from FCS (1-AA) football and there are several college divisions below FCS before we get to 4 more years of high school. I apologize to everyone on here and you don’t have to worry, I won’t be putting a post on here anytime soon since I leave in two weeks for my third tour in Afghanistan. I’ll carry my Panthers banner proudly with me and hope for a great season.

I just hate App State because we never beat you guys while I played at WCU. Bunch of damn Boonetards!! Coldest game I have ever been a part of was in 1993. Went from rain, to sleet, to wind, to snow over 4 quarters. And it was well below zero degrees. I was a redshirt freshman so I didn't get a coat on the sideline. Dexter Coakley was out there running his mouth. Screw ASU.

Daniel Boone Inn is the sh*t though.

btw...most of the anti-app hate is only from rival schools. you have to expect that. once they see him in action in a panthers uni that tune will change.

      I wanted someone to hire him so we got the picks, but I'm also not upset that he'll now be back. I genuinely don't understand why so many fans on here dislike him so much.  No, he's not perfect and made some mistakes this year, especially at the end of the playoff game and going so soft in coverage on the final drive. But considering this place torched him all offseason for us having the "worst defense in NFL history" last year.  Said in the whole pre-draft process how we had to go defense in round 1 because of it and then complained the rest of the offseason that we didn't do enough to improve the defensive roster. How do people say all that about the defense and then complain when he turned that same unit into a pretty respectable defense this year.  They were really the only reason we were in a lot of games for most of the season, as the middle part of the season they really stepped up and were playing like one of the better defenses in the league. I don't see any reason we can't improve even more next year if we spend another offseason focusing on adding pieces on that side of the ball, which we should be able to do with our draft picks and cap space.

      And they are perfect during the month of February! The fact they're 11th in the league now, but best in the league since Dec 6 tells you everything you need to know.
