If you could only have one playing for the Panthers, which one would you pick and why? Here is my opinion/comparison of their attributes.

Speed- DeAngelo

Receiving- DeAngelo

Running between the tackles- Stewart

Goaline- Stewart

Breaking tackles- Stewart

Elusiveness- DeAngelo

Lack of Injuries- Stewart

No I love both of these guys, and want both of them on Carolina for the next 10 years, but if I had to pick 1, Im going with Stewart based off of his running between the tackles and lack of injuries. The way he played against Minnesota really showed his toughness and heart against the best d-line in the game.

Stewie.. this is really a debate extension of which do you find better to have.. a Power RB or a Speed RB? Or who was better... Jim Brown or Walter Payton?

Not comparing our two to either of those guys, but in concept, it's the same argument.

I think lack of injuries is a toss up. I know D-Will missed the last 3 or 4 games last season, but Stewies Achilles has been a hinderance ever since he first arrived in Carolina.

Honestly if I had to pick one it would be D-Will because there are not that many runningbacks that can rely on speed and agility in the NFL. When I think of speed and agility the only one's that come to mind are Adrian Peterson, Chris Johnson, Thomas Jones, and DeAngelo Williams.

Now when it comes to big bruiser backs you have a lot more options and they are a lot more common in the NFL. In today's NFL you have guys like Steven Jackson, Maurice Jones-Drew, Jonathan Stewart, Ricky Williams, Ryan Grant, Cedric Benson, Rashard Mendenhall, Marion Barber, Matt Forte, Michael Turner, Brandon Jacobs, Beanie Wells, Kevin Smith, and Laurence Maroney.

I base my decision on which athlete is harder to find and in my opinion it is DeAngelo Williams.

SIDE NOTE: On a side note I would like the Panthers to cut Mike Goodson, Josh Vaughan, and Tony Fiametta and carry a loaded backfield.

RB- DeAngelo Williams (You already know him)

RB- Jonathan Stewart (You already know him)

RB- Daniel Porter (He was a stud in college and reminds me of AP)

FB- Tyrell Sutton (Proved he is a better option at FB than Fiametta)

FB- Rashawn Jackson (In my opinion he was the best FB in the draft class)

    • I'd hold on to Walker - we have no OT depth at all. Freeling is a block of clay - all the tools are there and he appears to have a great attitude. He needs serious work on his technique to realise his potential though.
    • From my watch last night: They weren't trading out of 19 unless it was a daft offer once Freeling got there. They were clearly antsy to get Hunter - and Minnesota actually called to offer the trade down. They weren't trading out of the third round pick once Brazzell fell to it (and Canales would have been happy with him in the second round). They traded back a lot on Day 3 - even if Morgan 'Babe Ruth'd' it with Lee, Hecht and Wheatley; they clearly weren't the only guys they would have taken at those picks. I'm curious to know which player caused the reaction at the start of day 2 (Dan Morgan): "of course they'd pick him"
    • Watching this confirms that this staff and front office is super high on Monroe Freeling. I wouldn't be surprised if he's gotta a real chance to win the starting LT job in camp. If he does, we can look to flip Rasheed Walker to a contender desperate for tackle help.   As for Ickey I still really like him and wanna extend him but based on how the staff was talking about Freeling it might be time for ickey to start taking some practice sets at guard if he wants to stay here as we are gonna have to have figure out a solution for the contracts of Lewis and Hunt.  My preferred scenario for the Oline in 2027 is Freeling-Ickey-Hech-Lewis-Moton.
