How does he not have a designed role? He is an Inside LB, he is the perfect size for that and he he can rush the passer and get in the backfired on run downs.  He has all the tools to play ILB, he is not a tweener or gadget guy. He will play more like Luvu in this system, he is just better. I don't understand why someone would compare him to Chinn and not Luvu.

I disagree.  He gets pushed back some inside.  He makes plenty of tackles but in the middle there are always a yard or two further back than they should be.  I think he's a pretty good prospect if you look at him as a classic inside linebacker but not near a top 10 guy.  I think the main reason he is considered by some as a top 10 prospect is because of his athletic potential as an edge, but it's mostly all based on potential.

He said himself in his interviews today that he is more of a chess piece to move around and mentioned he's been working a lot with Nolan Smith jr.

Chess piece and gadget/tweener aren't the same thing.   I agree he can play multiple LB positions

Basically,  in my opinion,  if you're taking him mostly for ilb, you don't take him at 8.  He's a good inside linebacker prospect but not nearly that good.  If you take him at 8 you are entirely taking him for his edge potential.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
