I bet $1000 that Jake Delhomme will start Opening Day 2009

He'll be our starting quarterback Opening Day 2009 with Josh McCown and Matt Moore as his backups.

These are Fox and Hurney we're talking about remember. Jerry Richardson owns Bojangles now and Jake is their top endorser. Jake's not going anywhere. Period.

Please remember who makes the decisions in this organization. They're loyal to the veterans in a sad way.

I hope he does... he had the worst game of his career. This sh*t happens in the NFL. I think some of you all forget how bad it was last year. sh*t, a good majority of you were not even around to talk about it. Ill take a 12-4, NFC South Champs season ride any year with the hopes of doing well in the playoffs. I for one am very proud of this team and what they did this year.

So because David Carr sucked and Vinny was older than God, only Jake can QB this team?

Man, are we ever screwed once he retires!

Jake is a very inaccurate passer. His passes mainly consist of random throws to Smith unless he's constantly double-teamed like he was tonight. Then his passes turn into very inaccurate passes to other receivers.

Counting the playoffs, he finished with 15 touchdowns to 17 interceptions. That's a poor season any way you slice it.

Yes Jake will start....and we will have a good start to the season and everyone will talk about how good jake looks against early season un-settled defenses then 60% into the season evil jake will visit us and fug our lives up again....i feel like i have been kicked in the nuts by a punter.

Of course he'll be back. Everyone pretty much will. We went 12-5 and Hurney will consider that as "good" as it "sounds". I'm tired of being a "southern hospitality" team. when **** ain't right, you fix it. I pray to god this was not the last Playoff run Jerry sees. But with this current team...the Playoffs aren't on the platter for next season.

what in hell... who on earth wouldnt consider a 12- 5 team "good"?!?!

12-5 is an excellent record

How would the playoffs not be on the platter?? if a team makes it to the 2nd round of the playoffs one year, and changes nothing for the next season, the result should be very similar. two teams that are exactly the same from one year to the next year, with no other stipulations involved should result in two very similar results.

if there a chance for a superbowl it's not with jake, maybe not fox or trgovac.

if richardson wants to stay loyal, great but remember nice guys finish last.(this quote is probably one of the closes opinion to fact).

btw stepandfetch, the jags, browns, and cowboys are the same team but didn't make the playoffs.

    • 100%. And these same people will claim you have an agenda. You can't have it every way. We had the lowest rated defense in the league last year. Statistically the worst ever. By PFF grades (for whatever that's worth- but they are readily accepted, used, and conveyed by most "reputable" sources), the defense was the worst ever. Not only that, PFF rated our receiving corp the worst in football last season. The absolute worst... out of 32 teams. Which is why regardless of the lip service Canales and Morgan paid to the current guys, they knew it would be criminal not to give Bryce more help. People fixating on team stats and not taking these things into context are stupid, plain and simple, and I'm for one thankful they're not running this team (or probably anything for that matter bc they obviously can't discern reality. Again, going back to the eyeball test these Narrative Nancies seem to hate so much, did they not see the windows Bryce was putting balls into? Have the generally not watched much NFL? Please, please show me the film where all these NFL QBs are making throws like this to this point Bryce was "below average" down the stretch compared to them. Bryce made more wow throws in that 3 game stretch of the Bucs, Chiefs, and Eagles than every other QB combined in all the years since since Cam got hurt I genuinely am baffled by people that can watch throws like that and act like it's nothing. I guarantee you Steve Spagnola, Todd Bowles, and and Vic Fangio didn't think it was nothing after watching the little guy torch them with players those teams would be embarrassed to trot out at the skill position players. The national media spent all year making excuses for Mahomes not having elite weapons when he had multiple 1st & 2nd round talents at the skill positions along with future HoFers in Kelce and Hopkins. Bryce wasn't throwing for 300 yards every week with David Moore and Adam Theilen in spite of jaw dropping throws and you want to say the guy played below average. For those people, again, we ain't watching the same sport. And the name calling doesn't change that... The vitriol and projection... it's off the effing charts with these people.
    • "Well you see if you remove this terrible game that terrible game this other terrible game and then focus on these games you'll see he's actually one of the better QB's in the league and he's actually as good as Jayden Daniels". My god this place is delusional. I love it.
