Titans QB Chris Simms denies smoking marijuana prior to his arrest for driving under the influence Thursday morning.

Simms allegedly told police during the arrest that he "was smoking marijuana in the car earlier." He was driving his eight-months pregnant wife. "My client never admitted to smoking marijuana that night," said Simms' attorney. "He said he was smoking cigarettes." Simms' lawyer claims two other men were in the car, and wants the DA to "investigate whether those two individuals were responsible for the marijuana odor." A source told the New York Post that only Simms and his wife were in the car.

That spleen injury didn't ruin Simms' career like some people -- not in this thread -- claim it did, Simms was never going to have a successful career anyway. The best attribute about Chris Simms is that his daddy is Phil Simms, you can't even call Chris "the football Earnhardt Jr." because 1) Junior occasionally does well, and 2) Junior isn't a cockwrinkle.

Now even if he didn't smoke marijuana he's smoking cigarettes -- a model habit for any professional sportsman, certainly -- around his eight-month pregnant wife? The next nominee for Father and Husband of the Year in 2010 is...

I'm actually for the complete legalization of marijuana, but I'm not supportive of driving around high, especially with a pregnant woman in the car, or smoking "cigarettes" around a pregnant woman.
