Is Clausen staying put? I could see him as a number 3 on the active roster and Cantwell as the number 2. As a coach I would really want a guy that is ready to play in case Matt Moore goes down. Clausen has talent, but that does not mean that he is ready to come in the game after an injury.

I remember seeing those videos of the 3 QB's and as I said then, I believe that Hunter had the better throwing motion and release than the other two. I can only question his accuracy. I remember from last preseason, that the only thing Hunter did badly was that he made the throws, but they were like rockets and it looked as if the receivers had trouble holding onto the ball.

Just like Scherer has said in an article, Clausen needs to work on his throwing motion. Scherer said that same thing about Jimmy, that Cantwell has been working on. He said Jimmy needs to make his throwing motion more compact and get rid of the big wind up. The Panthers are taking the right approach with Hunter and with Jimmy, and that is so not force them to be great, but just give them time to improve.

Even Matt Moore has improved his throwing motion and style since he has been here and backing up Jake and Testeverde. It takes time and when QB's are not forced, but when given time to develop they probably are better able to succeed.

Right, the Panthers beat writers would never publish anything good about a Panthers player, unless there is some kind of conspiracy or ploy involving the Panthers FO. It's simply unheard of.:rolleyes:

BTW, Clausen is a dumbass in the first place, if he tries to hold out. He would be hurting his own career much more than he would be hurting the Panthers...especially since it would give his detracters even more ammunition to use against him.

Plus the longer he would hold out the more likely he comes into camp as the third guy. He needs as any reps as he can get if he hopes to unseat Moore and Cantwell. I am sure he is very aware of that.

I just don't understand why it's so hard for people to believe that Cantwell might be pretty good. Nobody is saying that he will beat out Clausen or Pike, but I don't see how people can just discount the possibility unless they have actually been there everyday on the practice field and and in the classroom, and have seen first hand that Cantwell is still behind those guys.

The beat writers are reporting and publishing what the team is saying. My point is that I think the team is floating all of this Cantwell talk for a reason....and it is not because they think he is a better option than Clausen.

      Sadly, I’ve talked with a lot of my fellow alumni and Heel fans, and I’ve said, sadly, UNC is in the same exact position with Gio as the Panthers are with Bryce.  And the way the situations mirror each other are EERIE.  I’ve said here repeatedly how whoever Bryce’s personal team is that conned an NFL front office into taking him as a first round pick, let alone the #1 overall pick, deserve to retire off whatever money he’s made due to their efforts.  This poo would make Chauncey Billups’ crime bosses blush.🤣. Same for Gio.  Whoever he has around him, representing him, that convinced a power 4 school to pay this MF MILLIONS of dollars at the college level coming from Southwest Alabama Technical Basket Weaving School for the Deaf, Dumb, and Blind University, just to come make the whole rest of the UNC squad look like absolute poo is a fuging amazing sell.  I’m talking Tai Lopez level scam poo.  And for both to con their way to their position at their respective levels of competition, only to get there and be so clearly the worst piece on their team while simultaneously play the most important position on the field - I’ve never seen anything like it.  And what’s worse, in both cases, the organization chooses to keep putting them out there in large part because of ego and investment made.  And all they keep doing is making the rest of the team look fuging atrocious.  They both literally hold the entire team back by their presence alone.  And as an aside, Lopez may have the slowest fuging release I have ever witnessed in my life.  In talking slower and longer than fuging The Golden Calf of Bristol.🤣🤣🤣
