I don't think the schedule is as easy as it looks .

Hey look, I can spin things in a positive way just like you spun everything in a negative way.

Week 1 Giants - Completely destroyed them last season. Embarrassed them in their last game at their home stadium. They're terrified of us.

Week 2 Bucs - One of the worst teams in the league last year. They had a good draft but it won't be enough for this season. They'll be good again in a couple years.

Week 3 Bengals - Good team but they won't have an answer for our running game.

Week 4 Saints - Doesn't matter that they won the Super Bowl, we always give them a run for their money. With a decent QB throwing the ball, Smitty will tear the Saints apart just like he always does.

Week 5 Chicago Bears - Jordan Gross will make Peppers his bitch if King doesn't do it first. Cutler throws picks like I scratch my balls...often.

Week 6 BYE - Good time to rest up and prepare for our run to the play-offs.

Week 7 San Francisco 49ers - Good running game but they will be very one-dimensional on offense. By this time Leonard will probably have established himself as a stud at DT and will stuff Gore repeatedly.

Week 8 St. Louis Rams - Independence High School could beat the Rams.

Week 9 Saints - See week 4. Jonathan Vilma receives a concussion from being stiff-armed with violent force to the turf, courtesy of Jonathan Stewart.

Week 10 Bucs - Firmly at the bottom of the NFC South, the Bucs pose no threat.

Week 11 Ravens - Good team but Flacco is overrated. Two great running teams will make for a gritty ground battle, but Double Trouble is too much.

Week 12 Cleveland Browns - The Browns are pathetic. Jake will probably have a great game against us, but it won't be enough to win.

Week 13 Seattle Seahawks - Seahawks are not good on offense or defense. This is a win by 35 points.

Week 14 Falcons - Solid team, but Matt Ryan is not the QB everyone thought he would be. Turner will probably be injured or getting 2.5 ypc at this point in the season.

Week 15 Arizona Cardinals - Questions at QB and still a pretty bad running team. Easy W.

Week 16 Pittsburgh Steelers - Steelers are a good team but their defense is showing signs of aging. At this point we will have a solidly established Top 5 defense and they won't be able to move the rock on us. +4 turnover margin.

Week 17 Atlanta Falcons - Falcons lose this game and consequently miss out on a wildcard spot in favor of the Saints.

As said in another thread: Love the optimism, OP.

I'm not gonna be overly optimistic, but we're not gonna have a losing record this season. No way in hell.

Do people even read posts anymore? I never said we were going to have a losing record I actually said we were going to the superbowl.

I don't expect anybody to follow my posts but I think I'm actually one of the most optimistiic posters on here. I distinctly remeber posting stuff like 19-0 in record prediction threads. I prediected wildly productive seasons for our offense. Since like many people have said predictions don't mean much you might as well be optimistic.

With 5 guarranteed wins were only 4 games away from a winning record. It's not that pessimistic.

I've heard a lot of people say we're going to have a better year this year because our SOS is ranked #26th instead of #2. I might have even thought that a few times before I really thought about it. The schedule looks pretty hard actually. I think we have a good team though. There probably won't be many blowouts.

Seeing as went 8-8 with Jake playing like total crap I think the playoffs are likely.

This time of year, schedule strength means about as much as the points on "Whose Line is it Anyway."

Nobody knows jack about how good anybody will wind up being. It's all theory, and pre-season predictions are hardly ever right.

Exactly. At this point we have no idea how anybody will be starting with us. A number of teams are counting on rookies and young players to deliver this year. How well they guys do will go a long way to determining if they are contenders or pretenders.

Ok, let me amend my comment. You took every game on the schedule EXCEPT five (less than a third of our games) and wrote a pessimistic comment about how we're probably going to lose.

Also,

you just described your thread.

Did I ever say we're going to lose? I remember saying something about the superbowl but in your rush to deliver your insightful and biting commentary you kinda missed that part. It's easy to criticize others especially when you just make stuff up. You haven't put in a single intelligent thought, just sarcasm based of your fantasies.

I can't guarrantee the other 11 games. 10 of the teams I feel are pretty good and I added in 1 upset. We win less than half those games and it's 10-6. It's going to be very difficult but winning and playoffs is certainly realistic.

Every year is different and this year we're in a lot of games that are 50/50 in my eyes.

I'm pretty sure I didn't "make anything up." I totally agree that a lot of our games will be toss-ups and we have a decent chance of making the playoffs. My whole point is that your original post (despite your thrown-in comment about the Super Bowl) seemed very pessimistic and "sky is falling"-ish.

Remember we all counted Buffalo as a win last year; don't look past St. Louis, we have traditionally sucked against lousy QBs, or what I call the Gus Frerotte Rule. I don't count any game as an easy win; consequently, we can beat everyone we play if we minimize mistakes and capitalize on others'.

I may have come in late but . i don't necessarily think people dont think you;re optimistic as much as people just like messing with people on this site .. that probably wouldve been a great point on nfl.com war rooms but here .. regardless of how right or wrong you are .. either salt comes in and derails , or you get trashed for another reason .. not a bad review though
