Panthers tailgating

Tis much easier to sit on a message board and complain about tailgates than have the balls to show up and try one out. Most people have trepidation about showing up somewhere and not knowing anyone there. You should expect an experience much like you deal with in real life.....if you're somewhat outgoing and can introduce yourself you'll meet people, but if you are introverted, quiet and shy you probably won't have the best time. And then you'll come on a message board and complain about your experience because people didn't go out of their way to meet you.....

for several years I just showed up an hour before the game and got out of my car and went to the game and had a great time, but then started tailgating and now come to games just to tailgate.

Dont worry I wont. I guess I had it confused with all the empty parking lots all around down town. Lets face it, downtown charlotte is pretty much a ghost town on game day except for all those people leaving the fancy resturants to walk to the stadium.

where the fug do you tailgate, kohls? gtfo

Yeah, ranked number one by the NFL but I would trade that ranking in anyday for some home playoff games/wins. Our stadium will need to be disinfected twice this year since we have the Cowboys in preseason and regular season. I'll make sure I take my video camera for those games because I think I'll have some good Youtube clips with all the fighting that will be going on..lol PantherBob must be a crowd favorite on these boards.

I'm not thinking the NFL actually does any "tailgate rankings" so I'm not going to belabor the "ranked number one by the NFL" statement. But I will say that Jay the Tailgate Guy, who has his own show on the Food Network did come through Charlotte last season and he spent some time at our scene on the west side of the stadium.

We have been in our original spot since 1995 and still have most of the core group of tailgaters we started with. Although that group has evolved over the years as kids grow up, folks change jobs and other move on, it's been like a second family for 15 years.

Tucked in a 10-parking spot corner in the Hartigan's parking lot on Cedar street next to the practice facility we meet every game day at 9:30 with Bloody Mary's and start the food...

This is from 2007 and I can't find the link from last year that ranked us #1 but the NFL does acutally have a category for this.http://www.thebachelorguy.com/top-10-best-tailgating-cities-and-the-other-22.html

I guess hitting the downtown restaurants might not be a bad idea either. Charlotte is set up different than Houston though. Y'all have a downtown stadium and we don't. People here do hit the downtown restaurants for the Astros and Rockets games because those stadiums are downtown. Well give me a cool restaurant to hit before a Panthers game.

I went to a Stros game when I was there last year. Went to this bar called The Bus next to the stadium. Good times.

PantherBob/Gman is a f*cking douche.

    • I'm not sure that in a fair QB competition that Young would beat out Jones.
    • That's why I said stats aside. I lived in CO during Allen's college career and didn't have kids at the time so I watched most of his games. Bruh, I'm telling you. Balls just spraying all over the place. The type of throws where you're honestly trying to figure out who he was even trying to throw that one too. It was crazy. Richardson was inaccurate in college but at least you could tell who he was trying to throw it too. He threw a lot of early in the game Cam Newton type balls where it seemed like he was just a little too amped up and everything was a few feet high. Richardson's misses looked like they were maybe fixable with working on his footwork, release, etc. Josh Allen's misses looked like "ain't no way you're fixin' that poo, dude has a cannon equipped with no sights". LOL Huge props to the Bills for evaluating him as fixable and indeed fixing him.
    • A lot can change over the next week, but here is my best 53-man roster (note: I'm just basing this on guys on the 90 man roster currently). Obviously there could be trades/ waiver claims/ FA signings.   Offense (25) QB (2): Bryce Young, Andy Dalton RB (3): Chuba Hubbard, Rico Dowdle, Trevor Etienne TE (4): Tommy Tremble, JT Sanders, Mitchell Evans, James Mitchell WR (7): Tetoria McMillan, Xavier Legette, Adam Theilen, Jalen Coker, Hunter Renfrow, Jimmy Horn, Brycen Tremayne  OL (9): Ikem Ekwonu, Damien Lewis, Austin Corbett, Robert Hunt, Taylor Moton, Cade Mays, Chandler Zavala, Brady Christensen, Yosh Nijman    Defense (25) DL (6): Derrick Brown, Bobby Brown, Ashawn Robinson, Tershawn Wharton, Sam Roberts, Cam Jackson OLB (5): DJ Wonnum, Pat Jones, Nic Scourton, Princely Umanmielen, Thomas Incoom  ILB (5): Trevin Wallace, Christian Rozeboom, Krys Barnes, Jon Rattigen, Claudin Cherelus S (4): Trevon Moehrig, Demani Richardson, Lathan Ransom, Nick Scott  CB (5): Jaycee Horn, Mike Jackson, Chau Smith-Wade, Corey Thornton, Shemar Bartholomew    ST (3): LS: JJ Jansen  P: Sam Martin  K: Matthew Wright    Would like to hear everyone's thoughts
