Carolina Panthers open training camp with fresh faces, legs and optimism

Injury Report

There were several players who did not practice on Thursday: Steve Smith (arm), Thomas Davis (knee), Jeff Otah (knee), Jonathan Steward (ankle), Louis Leonard (knee) and Sean Ware (bee sting that caused an illogic reaction).

The Fox Report: Day two of the Carolina Panthers training camp

Harden turning heads

Fox was impressed by how well Greg Hardy has played during training camp. Fox said he has a lot of ability and has the potential to play defensive end at a high level.

“So far he has not disappointed us,” he said. “He has learned the defense pretty well in a short amount of time, and he is in great condition, and he has good skills. Hopefully, we can turn that into being a heck of football player.”

He certainly hardens my head.

lolwut?

On almost every major news website (news stations, etc.) there is an article with tons of typos, and it isn't rare either. Just how hard is it to type it, or go back and edit it? Hell, I edit almost every single one of my posts on this board.

Examiner is 4/4 with me this week. I only check them because of my Panther RSS feeds. It's pretty pathetic that EVERY article has glaring mistakes. Tragic really, as most of the articles are only a couple of paragraphs in length.

It is pathetic for any website that tries to push itself as professional to have such glaring errors. It's one thing to have a lack of vocabulary or particular touch with the English language, but it just gets downright sad when you keep making typos.

    • Kalkbrenner and Sion James received regular contracts and not two ways, so the Hornets have some work to do to cut the roster size down.
    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
