I dont know if this is productive for this forum but here goes my first one:

What are the odds that Smitty didnt really break his arm? Instead he was told to chill out for a bit.

And while we are on the subject of odds. What are the odds that I will be able to buy Steve Smith underoos in the near future?. . . I would wear them with just a cape. . . . everywhere.

maybe goggles too.

Zero.Zero:

1. Smitty does not play games like that

2. Smitty's agent would not allow him to take the PR hit just to lay about as it could impact future contracts.

3. Richardson/Fox would not do this. I could see them hiding a potential player on IR for the year or nursing a hammy for preasonson but not faking a broken bone that required surgery.

Sadly, I think its #2 that makes the conspiracy most unlikely to me.

you do know they put another plate in right?

I never thought about how shady it is to IR stash people. We do it at least once a year. Pike probably goes out for the year with a papercut.

No, I've had my own broken bone problems the past few months.

Was the break that bad? All I remember was a bunch of "OMG WE'RE SCREWED" reactions.

From what I have been told you can't just put a guy on IR. First of all the medical report has to be sent to the league office and it has to be documented. Sure there is some flexibility so that a guy who breaks his leg can be placed on IR 3 weeks into the season even though he could be back by week 11 for example. If you have a guy who can't contribute due to an injury and you need to replace him, you can put him on IR for example. Still you can't just put a completely healthy guy on IR for no reason. If you get caught doing that I believe you suffer fines and punishment by the league office.

    • Moved to Tuesday, not Wednes because of scheduling with Flyers game or something in Philly. But I don't feel good about the Heat.  It has been a great season regardless.  Team just been playing so hard to move up since a bad start and just picked a bad time to get gassed.  It's like almost everyone is shooting cold at the same time even wide open shots.   Maybe atmosphere and playoffs kick off a spark.  I'd rather be in a series than a one and done though. The team has a good foundation to build on regardless of what happens.
    • Dan's been talking about upgrading CB since beginning of free agency
    • I'm more of a Hornets fan than I am a Panthers fan, I've watched a ton of this franchise the last 20 years. I post all day on RealGM. Don't get your hopes up, this is setting us up for a 20 point loss to the Heat and a swift end to the season. Spoelstra has always solved us, the Heat have two bigs that we have no answers for, and Jaquez is a certified Hornets killer that always plays us like he has a grudge on us. The Hornets being a top 10 team all year and a top 5 team the last half of the year and then flat out missing the playoffs is incredibly on brand for this crappy, horrendous franchise. I would love to be proven wrong. But I've suffered enough to know this little scheme the team is pulling. We finished 2 games out of 6th and guaranteed playoffs, and we blew two games to the Pacers and Nets earlier in the season, when they weren't trying to win. It's just who we are, Hornets DNA
