Dan Connor-LB- Panthers Aug. 3 - 6:05 pm et

The Rock Hill Herald's Darin Gantt confirms that new Panthers MLB Dan Connor is not practicing as part of the team's nickel package.

The two nickel 'backers are WLB Jon Beason and SLB James Anderson. Connor isn't going to be an every-down player, so it's hard to get too excited about his prospects in IDP leagues. Beason remains the Carolina linebacker to target.

thats what i do in madden for what its worth. you want the best guys on the field for what you are trying to do. if you drop a linebacker in normal situations it would be the will on madden by default. in last years roster that would take davis out and leave beason and diggs. that made no since to me so i would sub in davis. now i do the same thing for connor. i know that madden isnt real before i get reamed, bit it has a lot of real situations there and that just happens to be where i picked that up. im not surprised by that. connor is just a little slow to stay in in deff passing downs.

    • damn I wish somebody would sign him. This has been going on for weeks.    I think if the team wanted to sign him we probably would have heard something about interest on our part.    Or any TE. It looks like they have set that room. And we have taken guys two years running, a guy like this would be blocking them. We need to see if they have it or not. And we should see if Tremble is gonna ever do anything.      In general, with the TEs
    • Dude, there aren’t rose colored glasses big enough for you to call this “not a bad draft.” BC was not a good pick. He was taken with the 6th pick in round 3 and he’s been a backup OL. Tremble also wasn’t a win. Another 3rd rounder who’s easily replaced. Only reason either of them started games is because of injuries or a lack of a better starter. Chuba’s got heart but he’s had one solid year behind a solid run blocking unit. Other than that he’s underwhelmed and like we saw with Dowdle and Foreman, it’s not hard to find cheap pickups who perform as well. Horn has been a good starter but honestly that draft had so many solid starters we could have taken. With as many picks as we had, him and Chuba is absolutely a bad draft. We needed OL and BC and Brown was a terrible effort. You clearly didn’t watch the Senior Bowl if you thought Brown had a chance in the NFL. The huddle draft folks wanted Humphrey and Smith and instead we got crap and Mahomes was the winner.
