More Steve Smith bashing

Smithers

Sabino joins the growing list of "analysts" to call # 89 "the other Steve Smith." He lists Smith as # 5 on the top 10 list of players who should not be considered a valuable fantasy option. He does blame some of last years hardships on Jake...but not enough.

gotta becareful with the fantasy articles and there is a reason why some say fantasy is bad for the sport.

Being a great fantasy option doesn't make guys actual better players than some of there peers. There might be 5 total WRs I would consider better than Smitty now but I could do a pretty big list of "fantasy" guys I would have higher.

The fantasy aspect of this entire ordeal is beside the point. The most important thing to note, in my opinion, is the fact that this idiot, along with many others, thinks Steve Smith of the Giants is a better WR than # 89.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
