Corvey Irvin appears to be one of the brightest spots on the Panthers defensive line (along with Greg Hardy). Irvin, a 3rd round pick last year was placed on the IR before the season began, but the Panthers had big hopes for the rookie. Already, Irvin is making a case to be in the hunt for the Panthers starting DT spot, likely opposite Louis Leonard. He’s working hard and making plays.

Thats about all I have read or seen of him.

Ok, well first off I was not a fan of the Corvey Irvin pick.

However, it seems that Irvin has a pretty simple task in order to make this squad. I see the Panthers keeping four defensive tackle's this year and a couple of those spots will be filled by Tank Tyler and Louis Leonard. Then you have three guys in Irvin, Johnson, and Landri. Nonetheless I am pulling for Irvin because he is 300 lbs. + and the Panthers need some big guys inside.

That's encouraging to hear about Irvin. That should give us some pretty good depth. I just hope we have a guy that can fill Leonard's spot adequately if he has to miss time at some point.
