Planning a batchlor party/snoboard trip. Need some help.

My best friend is getting married in January, and myself and a couple of other groomsmen are putting together the batchlor party/trip.

The groom to be has requested a snowboarding trip.

Since the wedding in in Jan., and nobody can miss Christmas/New Years, I am guessing that we will have to go in Mid December. Normally I would just go to WVA and hit snowshoe, but because it's so early in the season, we are considering farther north. No one really has the cash to run out west.

Are there some suggestions for ski/snowboard resorts that are in VT, NY, etc. that would be easy to get to (air travel), and still be fun (bars/night life/good slopes)?

Any help will be rewarded with pie.

never been but i've heard stowe mountain is good. It's in vermont.

and if you're up for the trip Sugarloaf in Maine is supposed to be the best in the east.

Talking to the people renting the slope front condos, there are some deals to be had up there. 5 years ago the prices were well over double for a short term stay.

Killington is the best way to go for a good mountain and a decent nightlife. Another one would be Whiteface @ Lake Placid which is a cool little town.

I went to Canaan Valley WV last year (about 20 minutes from Snow Shoe) in mid Dec last year. The day after we got there that massive blizzard came through and dropped like 30 inches...almost TOO much for good snowboarding. But I wouldn't say that mid Dec is too early for a fun trip...weather wise.
