Replacing Peppers production....

We still have 1 more week to see how well we will cope without Peppers. I felt like looking at the amount of snaps and sacks the guys we have are producing right now.

I used profootballfocus.com for the snaps. I just estimated how much sacks our guys got for how many snaps they took. I'm estimating for the rookies.

I'm really tired so I don't feel like explaining the math. I'll explain tomorrow.

Charles Johnson 7 in 700

Tyler Brayton 4 in 600 -

Everette Brown 5 in 500

Greg Hardy 4 in 400

Eric Norwood 4 in 400

Jon Beason 4 in 1000

Dan Connor 1 in 1000

James Anderson 2 in 300

Sherrod Martin 1 in 1000

Charles Godfrey 1 in 1000

Richard Marshall 1 in 1000

Captain Munnerlynn 1 in 500

this gives us 35 sacks. I think I'm being a little optimistic but not at a homer level.

the first number is their sacks for the season, the 2nd number is their estimated snaps from their positions based on the projections from the last few years.

You put together this complex yet thought-provoking thread, I try very hard to focus on the topic, but then I glance at your av and all I can think about now are Jello pudding pops.

Dammit, of course I don't have any.

Jello... Just because there's always room for it doesn't mean it's always there.

Like love in your heart for an x who you sleep with regularly...

One thing I am looking forward to in regards to the move of Beason is the increased opportunity for QB pressure from him...It has the chance of being a huge addition to the defense's potential....Beason chasing sacks can only be a good thing..

 *** Peppers. I will admit when Pepper was younger he played great for carolina. But his production had declinied in the past few years. Peppers got most of his sakes last year off of sucky ass QBs agaist crappy teams. Peppers would have been 31 yrs old coming into this season. If he would have stayed and panthers gave him a big contract. He would played maybe 2-3 more years at a decent high level and after that he would become likemost vets who gets into their mid 30s. He would have faded out after another 2-3 years and panthers would still be paying him a hugh contract. As much as I love peppers as a former tar heel and panther. It was time for him to move on. I just wish some people around here would get off of peppers nuts and stop riding them. Carolina in a few years would have to replace him anyway. Now is the time. Pepper is gone and no long here. Get over it and move on. We got Brayton, Brown, Greg Hardy, Charles Johnson and so on. I think this group can make up for the loss of peppers and more on top of that. It's just a matter of fans just needing to surpport them and forgetting about peppers and moving on. This group will be fine this season unless injuries begin to happen all of a sudden.:aureola:

    • Was hilarious to me listening to wfnz in Charlotte blast the NBA about the Rozier situation and then say please text in your thoughts to the FanDuel text line lol
    • Personally, like most seasons, my eyes are now on the best pick possible.  Now, I know some want to win and Dave Canales falls into that camp.    What would I do?  well, I would shuffle my WRs. Last 3 weeks we our pass game has been 124, 102 and 138 yards.  A very clear step down of late. has anything changed the last 3 weeks? One of the top 2 best route runners and most reliable to just his job and be where he should be has been inactive.   While he wasn’t a high production player…..he had demands that defense actually account for a route runner.  And it wasn’t abnormal to see Bryce miss him for what should have been a pretty decent gain via a bad pass.  And he is still 3rd in receptions by the WR group despite disappearing.  the 2nd part of the shuffle would be acknowledging XL is more of a net negative than positive.  so my base 3 WR sets would be TMac and Coker on the outside.  Renfrow back to the slot.   Work in Tremayne.  Do what you want with the last spot with Horn or XL.   I say keep Horn active. and I’m not sure it’s all XL.  But he is too raw to help BY out.  He needs a QB that helps him out.  They do nothing for each other.
    • Same as here. He was never going to make it in the NFL with his limitations.  Maybe he latches on as a backup somewhere. If he got really serious about his footwork and mechanics there is a slim chance he could do better. But he hasn’t been able to so far and changing that stuff and getting to where it comes without thinking, is just very difficult to do and takes years.
