Panthers will trade for a WR...

Its looking more and more likely to me. The obvious downfall of this squad this year and years to come is the lack of a legit receiver not named Steve Smith. No one likes to talk about it, but Smith is on the downward slope of his career. He will be losing a step from here on out starting last season.

Apparently drafting a WR is not our strong suit to say the least.

The only logical next step is trading one of our RB's for a WR.

It is hard to rationalize keeping 2 pro bowl caliber RB's and one extremely good RB (sutton) on the roster when we have zero depth at WR. None.

I know a team shouldn't play the loyalty card... but they've already stripped me of many of the players I grew accustomed to loving through the SuperBowl and beyond... If they were to trade away Jonathan or DeAngelo... I would have a hard time following them SMH...

Though I admit from a football perspective...I guess it would make sense....why have a bunch of jelly and no bread...

Would you trade sutton for a solid WR prospect? Lets be honest, a WR equivalent of Sutton would be an upgrade for us.

They won't trade one of our star RB's for a receiver.

Love your effort to stir the pot, but ya fail.

Name one team that has a receiver they are shopping, or would shop, that is worth trading for, and also have a need at running back.

Take your time, cause I'm sure you'll need it.

Sutton? Seriously? What are they gonna trade us? lol

You underestimate his value. Sutton is better than the majority of the backup RB's in the league.

Or do you not think teams value having a solid backup RB?

    • He does have speed. 21+ top end speed is very fast for a linebacker and his 3 cone drill time is considered excellent, close to elite.
    • This is awesome because you get to see the perspectives of the scouts--get a glimpse behind the curtain. I wonder whose doing this was; I am curious as to why David Tepper allowed it. Maybe it was his wife. Maybe Dan.  At least from my perspective--and probably one shared by other fans--when David Tepper bought the team, he closed everything off too much to the fans, and really didn't give an explanation. Things were obviously done because he (and/or some others wanted to do it). Remember when they used the guise of construction and all that to keep fans from seeing the team during practice? I know there are laws and safety and all that, but Tepper could've made it happen. And, of course, we all know that they essentially fired Jeremy from his independent contractor gig as a photojournalist. I never understood why they'd do that (and the negative reverberations obviously affected Jeremy and ultimately this place--i.e, us fans). The pie was (and is) certainly big enough to throw some scraps to the independents. I realize that you can't necessarily open the floodgates, but a few different perspectives from indy journalists whether in word or photos is a good thing in my mind.  So, it's great to see different perspectives. I will say this however: it is not without risk, as you know there will be some buster who will be calling the scouts out if the players flop. I think we should all keep in mind that the buck stops with the GM. It's nice to have one, however, that is so convicted in his people and process--and ultimately success, that he's willing to give fans access to this type of information. Pass this on to Tepper.
    • I hope he ends up being our best ever at the position. Ryan Kalil left big shoes behind that we haven't quite been able to fill since.
