A New Guy's Fan Perspective

Im new here to the huddle and although Ive heard lots of odd things from Panthers fans in the past, I must say I find pretty hilarious to read a lot of the negative reviews about certain players last night. It's kind of like when you want to go see a new movie and you look up reviews and most people give it an A or B but then theres the reviews that come from people that just plain were not watching the same movie. "ZOMG!. . F!! . . . TERRIBAD!. . I would rather be shaving my balls with a jigsaw". I find that I just cant stop reading them. . . well mostly because many huddlers keep posting them. Sometime they can be more entertaining than the games.

Haters of Lafell and the rest: Hehehe, its one game, one muthafahkin game ya jeckaces. Dear Lawd, I cant imagine what life is like in your eyes. A string of disappoints, non stop misery, fear, and hate.

To the Armanti Haters: OOOHHHH you just couldnt WAIT to tell everyone how right you were about that being a bad pick. . OHH you know so much about football, we are all very impressed here.

It was his first game. . at which a position he's never played anywhere close to this level. . . in the rain. He actually did well NOT fuggin up. . . least he knew the playbook muthfahkaaaaz hehehe (I wish the best for DJ I really do).

To the Clausen Haters: Look man, if you hate Notre Dame thats all fine and dandy. If you hated Jimmy's guts before he was a Panther, well. . that's fine too, but he's a Panther now so how bout you throw away that childish prejudice and give the guy an honest objective opinion. If youre gonna be a Panthers fan, the rest of us really dont want to hear you bitching and moaning about "Golden Tate, Golden Tate".

Rofl some guy on the Packman show is baggin on clausen for wearing black tape under his eyes instead of the other stuff. Bwahahaha

To me, two players had off nights and that would be Gross and Money. Everyone else (considering the conditions), looked anywhere from "yep thats pretty much what we expected" to "Uhm, Im totally going to shave a 76 into my sideburns this year. . maybe my gut hair too"

Oh ya and someone tell Fox to stop tampering with where #52 lines up.

I agree that one game doesn't tell us much, but I hope we don't have a repeat of last season where virtually every Huddler (but me and a few others) were saying that the preseason didn't mean anything and was in no way an indication of what was to come in the regular season. One game doesn't tell us much, but one entire preseason can.

I find it very odd that these people think of themselves as fans. I literally do not understand how their brains arrive at those types of conclusions.

Oh I dont think the score does but the games certainly do give you a lot of indication of where the team is for sure. I would think 4 games is enough to make an "early" guess, but lets not forget that football is a game of momentum. So even some of you ol' school Shot Callers around here should be careful about that imho.

Why are you hating on the haters? Haters gonna hate.

RE:My AE "hate" - He had a price tag for his pick because it involved a trade up, and with that he also got a 4 year contract.

So the expectations are high. And I think we all want him to come out and show us something.

But he didn't show talent with his hands in Training Camp, and he didn't last night. You could try and justify that by saying the FO said they were drafting an athlete. But his performance wasn't all that athletic last night.

You know what they say about first impressions...

    • okay I found this and it sounds like my hopes for the first surgery being not such a great job seems like it could be actual reality.  I only hoped because that would give a better chance for recovery and ia a possible scenario so I just thought it could be possible. Had no real evidence of it. But I’ll be damned.    This is a detailed report of Brooks’ surgery and the condition of his knee after the failed repair.     https://x.com/jmthrivept/status/2055743129408704806?s= Sparked by some very good questions by @CoachspeakIndex, here’s some info on Jonathon Brooks: 1. Speculation that the first graft/ACLR by Dr. Cooper didn’t “take” or at least was too lax, leading to failure and re-tear. Brooks dealt with issues cutting, progressing in his rehab into the early stages of 2024 and then re-tore it late 2024, requiring a second ACLR in January 2025 (essentially revision). Notably, CAR prolonged Brooks’ rehab process through Sept-Oct due to issues progressing into the next stages of rehab. 2. Second surgery performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who has extensive experience with revisions. He did a double bundle technique, harvesting graft from Brooks’ left patellar tendon and a strip of his right IT Band (his right patellar tendon had been utilized for the prior graft in 2023. The double bundle technique significantly increases rotational stability of the knee, leading to a stronger and more secure graft/reconstruction. Also to note, Brooks’ surgery wasn’t significantly delayed, meaning that the tunnels from his prior ACLR were in good shape and they didn’t need to perform bone grafts to fill in (would have delayed 2nd surgery by 5-6 months). Essentially, reading the tea leaves tells me that everything else except for the graft itself was still in good quality within his knee. Good sign for future.  3. Typically, you see a performance increase anywhere from 16-20 months post-revision. Brooks will be ~21 months out from his second surgery by the time Week 1 hits. His knee should be more stable and stronger this time around, with adequate time for healing and return to all movement patterns. I’m not viewing this situation as a typical “Player __ had TWO ACL tears, he’s cooked” situation. Rather, I’m viewing it as the first procedure failed, but the second procedure is significantly stronger and should allow him to return to form this time around. I don’t know why it posted as a link but there it is.
