I was reading this story an L Blount fighting at TC, but I was suprised about the statement that there is a new NFL rule that stops a play when a players helmet comes off.

Does anyone have further carification on this. This could be interesting in scenerios when a player not involved with the ball such as a linemans helmet comes off, also in the MNF game when Eli's helment was knocked off did the paly continue only bc he fumbled the ball?

It only applies when the ball carriers helmet comes off.

Thanks for the clarification, this really would suck if a players helmet pops off as he breaks through the line and the play is called dead but he would have had a clear path to the end zone.

I hope all WRs RBs QBs strap up the chin straps from now on
