all i got out of this thread was "dumb gay baby". who cares about what's been done? because it's already been done and there's nothing we can do about it but sit and wait. even though i'm a huge football fan... sometimes i just don't understand other football fans who seem to think they know all about what's going on in their team's front office. The article states that Smith is the oldest POSITION player. And that is true. Kickers are not considered position players. They didn't miss anything.

I am, for one, very excited about this team. More excited than I have been in a long time. I don't think that we should have got another #1 caliber WR, we don't need Smitty breaking Boldin's face for the second time, or hitting anyone else. This team shows a lot of things, experience may not be one of them, but I believe we will surprise A LOT of people this year. One of our WR will step up and become a viable option. Moore will come into his own and run this team with a lot of the fire that Jake did in my opinion. I do know however that if we are kicking ass and going to make the playoffs, someone will still find something to bitch about. We could go 13-3 and people would complain because we didn't go 14-2... ridiculous.

I think they did an awsome job thus far with the defense. The cuts and fixes they made there were damn good and that is where most the money was saved. Of course on offense they finally got a QB for real competition which was awesome and got rid of the problem. Really, the only thing I'm irritated with is the WR. I wish they would have got one. There were several that were good this year that became available. That's only ONE contract, ONE player, I just don't see how that was too complicated to do. I understand the philosophy they are headed into the season with but another stud WR opposite of smith and this whole team would easily headed to the playoffs. More importantly I won't have to poo my pants every time smitty takes a hit and might get injured.

In all seriousnous though, if you're going to go young and still want to be good, the defensive side of the ball is the place to do it because there is not as big of a learning curve at most defensive positions. This team still has plenty of experience almost across the board on offense. Even Matt Moore is entering his 4th season as a pro.

I would agree that youth is better served on the defensive side of the ball. At this point we are actually inexpereinced at several positions on the Offense. Fullback. receiver not named Steve Smith, right guard and quarterback. I have high hopes for Moore this year but honestly our team has the least experience at quarterback than any in the league.

It could be worse for sure but we are one or two injuries away from being hurting. The problem this year won't be just the starters but lack of expereinced backups as well. If we stay healthy we could be fine. But when was the last time that realy happened outside of 2008 when we went 12-4.

Moore has just as much experience as Kolb, and he has more than Romo did when he was named the starter. Fiammatta has had a year to learn with a little bit of game experience thrown in, so he should be fine. Bernadeau will probably win the starting RG spot, and he has started games before, so he should be fine too. That leaves the #2WR, and we don't even know who that is yet. Jarrett and Moore have both played in regular season games though, so LaFell is the only option who has never played in the NFL, and he will have to beat out the experienced players to win it.

I think we're OK. They all just need to show something in this next game, and that includes all of the experienced vets on offense. They haven't looked any better than those youngsters yet.
