The list of defensive names that are looking good are numerous, but Hardy and Brown stand out the most.

Special teams, all of our kickers have been pretty good except for one botched snap. Baker leaks the nfl in distance, although his net isn't that good. Either he is not kicking with enough hangtime, or our coverage is not good.

Moore has 2 receptions over 20 yds and that has been the Panthers passing attack. I would say Jordan Gross is highly overhyped and if he could block, someone could finish a route.

Your first quote makes the case for Clausen, drops and lack of protection.

Never been a real J.Baker fan, but he was really good last week. If you are kicking it 50+ yds, someone has to make a tackle, his hang time has been good. It's the coverage that sucks.

Baker has always had a big leg, but he mishits a lot of punts when he has his bad days. We're talking badly shanked.

I have been impressed with Clausen's ability to move the ball and his general arm strength. Pocket awareness has been really nice too.

I have been least impressed with our collective WR group. Dropping passes that hit them in the hands. Especially LaFell, who I thought was a possession guy. He needs to clean it up.

Disappointed that Jarrett hasn't broken out a bit more. You can only blame it on the QB for so long before you realize he may have to do more.

Lafell has been pitiful at best and AE... OMG, just go ahead and show the "Wildcat". maybe it will give him some swagger, because he just looks scared. If this is our collection of receivers battling for the 2 spot, we are in knee deep! Moore is a #3 at best and Jarrett...nice knowing ya.

The Good: I've been most impressed with the defense as a whole. There are plenty of standouts, but the defensive line especially is performing much better than expected. Our defense looks solid on all three levels. For the most part we have a group of speedy, young, hungry guys who fit Meeks' scheme extremely well. I'm excited to see what this unit can do in the regular season, and how much better they can get. When Thomas Davis comes back for instance. I can hear all the noobs calling for a 3-4 defense already, because we are going to be stacked at linebacker.

The Bad: The O-line isn't blocking as well as I'd like to see, especially pass blocking. They've allowed 11 sacks in the preseason so far, ranking us right behind the Raiders for most sacks allowed so far. Of course, we saw this last preseason as well and the play improved in the regular season. I don't think this will be a problem, but I'm really hoping we don't get the same O-line injuries we seem to get year after year. Luckily Fox has been pretty good at finding good (cheap) versatile backups.

The Ugly: Will someone on this team catch a f**king football? At least we know Double Trouble will come to play and the blocking will still open holes the size of China, but I'm going to be praying that this WR corps brought their sticky gloves. Oh, and that NOTHING bad ever happens to 89 again.

By the way, where is Jamar Williams, the transplant from Chicago? Haven't heard a thing about the guy, I was hoping that the FO might have been able to sneak out another quality player from that defensive unit.

Out of that list I have only been genuinely impressed by Hardy, Brown and Baker.

The rest have either not did that much or were playing against 2nd, 3rd and 4th stringers.
