Armanti Edwards and the wildcat...

I started thinking today about how we grabbed Edwards in the draft so aggressively. We drafted him far earlier than where he was expected to go, and we traded a 2nd to get him.

I'm going to assume the coaching staff wasn't expecting him to transition to WR quickly enough to get immediate returns on that 2nd. If they weren't expecting a immediate return then it almost doesn't seem worth it. I think they were expecting some big things from him that didn't have to do with WR.

When I think of how many times the staff/players allude to the secret things they've been working on, and Edwards skills as a QB, I start to wonder about the wildcat.

Edwards certainly is capable enough to toss a pass if needed. He's also great in space. He's certainly stuggled at WR and returner, maybe this means he's working on something else as well?

A far fetched theory but I just felt like sharing.
