Rookie W.R'S that you wanted us to draft

I think Seattle will be making more WR moves this week and into next and don't think Tate will be part of those moves. They've been using the preseason to see whether or not the Williams reclamation project is worthwhile, looking at Obamanu to see if he stays etc. I am thinking we'll see lots of Tate tonight as he hasn't really been involved too much in weeks 1-3. I still think a Branch or Housh move could happen, and the Jackson talks have slowed, but not stopped. All this will affect Tate of course, but he will be part of this offence, I'm pretty sure there.

I don't know who you think is bitching but I thought some may find it interesting to see what the other guys are doing...If anything these updates should make you feel better since none of them are setting the world on fire.

My apologies. It's just a lot of guys lately have been complaining ad nauseum that they wanted so-and-so instead of Edwards. I see now that's not the point of this thread.

Kyle Williams From Arizona State We drafted tony pike 2 picks before he was taken .. i still say until proven wrong that tony was a wasted pick and is too lanky to play this game

I see so much steve smith in him not to mention his legs are already the same size as smith's give or a take a centimeter in depth

He has played in 2 games and is now out with a toe injury

Have watched a lot of Shipley. He was Colt's best weapon at Texas and will be a beast in the slot for Palmer this year.

I thought Tate and Gilyard would be doing better. Honestly I never thought LaFelle would fall to us.

Rookie receiver of the year is going to be Mike Williams. Followed by Dez Bryant and and Jordan Shipley.

Oh by the way Victor Cruz a long with having the coolest name ever is going to be a good player.

I really didnt think Lafell would fall to us ether but I still wanted Shipley with the pick. He was just a more polished WR. I think LaFell will be good down the road but he is still a project right now. I keep forgetting that the Panthers will try to replace Moose at all cost though.

It's really funny how before the draft, all of these guys are game-changers who will transform the Panthers into perennial contenders. After the pre-season, most of them are afterthoughts at best.

I think we will be singing the prases of LaFell and Gettis (if we keep him) by the end of the season. Edwards will be good down the road also. Still if we would have gone with the obvious choice and picked the more polished Steve Smith over trying to replace Moose with a young unproven Jarrett, we would have been fine this year.

I wanted Benn so bad going into the draft. But I think I'm slowly developing a man crush on LaFell and Gettis.
Same here. I hope Gettis sticks around long enough to be good.

I wanted Shipley. I saw him as being a great slot WR.

Most def a good slot guy or even a #2 when talent was across from him.

shipley would have been great but he went just a few picks after lafell.

btw...you have to wonder how effective shipley would be if he didn't have TO and 85 taking the pressure off of him. still, i can't imagine him being worse than edwards.

now mardy gilyard...that wold have made more sense than edwards. that's who i was really hoping for.

oh well. water under the bridge. lets see what they can do to fix the passing game. so far doesn't look like anything they have done has worked.

    • It is heretical language to some.  We casual types can say it, we are just dumb. When Cosell says it they probably go looking for their pacifiers and blankies.  Second consecutive week he dished that out.  I wonder what it will be on the review this week.
    • I love how everyone is acting so surprised by this, it's actually pretty comical that it's a shock to anyone. This is how it is in ALL sports.  It's the same reason we were in tight games last year against teams like KC and Philly.   I'll bet the same people surprised by this right now are the same ones who thought those games were the proof that Bryce was legit and this team wasn't far from being in contention. Teams have down weeks, whether it happens because they're playing a weak opponent so don't think they need to take the week as serious or because a team just got too big headed after a good streak of games/wins, it just happens. There have been very few teams who have ever been 100% locked in every week, you're talking about 2007 Patriots or 95-96 Bulls type of teams there. Hell, just look at the Bills this week, there was no reason for them to lose that game and they got blown out.  But sure, we're the franchise with the culture problems because a few guys got their head over their skis this past week.
    • TBH, we won't know unless they say or some people get benched. It's pointless to even speculate. The greater point is that the coaching staff is allowing it to happen. So much for a "Leadership Council."
