I hate Time Warner and the NFL network

this will not get resolved unless TWC caves due to a conflict of interest advantage NFLN has.

More and more fans are staying home in front of 55" home theaters with pause, replay, commentators you can hear, and easy access to affordable snacks and beers. The cost is becoming prohibitive and yes the economy is tough but more and more I think it is the comfort and convenience of cable.

If you have the gear already, TWC basic pays for itself all year if you drop just 3 home games for a family of four. If you had season tix you could buy all the gear and get road runner too instead based on the cost.

NFLN sees this and knows if they sign with yet another major outlet the possibility that this continues to be the trend is much greater, especially in small market areas like Carolina. Chances are they are asking for something outrageous and they categorize the missing business as hedging their bet for bars (bigger accounts for them) to stay satellite and people to go to games.

Don't hold your breath, get Direct TV.

As an NFL Sunday Ticket subscriber through DirecTV, I still prefer cable to satellite because of the faster response time from the remote, overall monthly cost, and bundled internet and cable bill. The NFL Sunday Ticket and the NFL Network, plus TWC's customer service response to my requesting them, are my only reasons for having being a DirecTV customer instead.

Time Warner Cable wants to put NFL Network into an expensive package where subscribers pay $12-$20 per month. The NFL wants the NFL Network to be added to basic cable where all TWC customers pay about 1$ more per month. Since all other sports suck in comparison to football, I feel everyone should pay for my football viewing even if they are too stupid to be a fan of the NFL. I'm comfortable being that kind of asshole, because I know I am right.

The showdown with ESPN does have an impact on how TWC proceeds with the NFL, and this should be watched closely. If TWC capitulates to ESPN, the NFL has a stronger future bargaining position.

And Time Warner doesn't go out everytime there is a thunderstorm.

    • I used to think Juan was a Zod alt. Agree he's a great poster.
    • Hawks said nah we good and sent him to the shadow realm aka the Wizards. Cold blooded. I mean they're 2-2 in a series with a young up and coming Knicks team largely through 34 year old CJ McCollum. Even if they ultimately lose the series at least they are there and have something to build on. I think Hornets fans are just beaten down and lack the objectivity to assess the situation. They think we are going to get so much worse if and when we finally change gears. Worse how? We've already been a lottery team for years now. We've already been looking to win our first playoff series in about a quarter century. We already can't get past the play in and in failing to do so we have completely embarrassed ourselves twice looking like we don't even belong. Honestly there is absolutely no excuse for a team like the Magic to be more competitive and successful than us in the playoffs. Absolutely disgusting. But that's just me. I was fuging lit when we got the Hornets back in Charlotte but that is old old news. It's time for these boys to get into a playoff series. Enough is enough. If they can't do it for 2026-27 then they need to make wholesale changes regardless.
    • Not one single pick that is asking me why we drafted a guy in the first place. It was a guy we needed and/or a guy that had certain traits making them stand out. Best of all, I feel everyone we drafted are capable of stepping onto the field this year and have a meaningful role (even Kuwatch on special teams). Obviously, nothing is guaranteed but I'm not seeing any huge flags on guys because they're risky projects or massive overreaches.
