This depresses the hell out of me reading your responses.

We should look to become the best team we can be. As of right now we lack anything other than Steve Smith as a Wide Receiver. We happen to have an opportunity to sign a player at what will probably be lower than actual worth because of his fallout with another team and yet we don't sign him. Why? Because we are "run first." Well, run first all you want, but eventually you have to pass, and Smitty would be way more relevant if he wasn't triple-covered all of the time, so having someone somewhat relevant opposite of him would be amazingly helpful to our team.

You do realize that the Seahawks just paid TJ $7 million to go away....don't you think there is some serious baggage with this guy.

I am not saying that I would not like a stud #2 WR...as I would. I have just moved past this and understand what type of team the Panthers are. Obsessing with guys like TJ serve no productive purpose.

I hear the Saints bandwagon just had a spot open up...I am sure their pass happy offense will be a better fit with your expectations.

Every player has their baggage. Typically, that baggage is alleviated once a player joins with a good team. Which is what Housh would be joining, especially if he signed.

The primitive insults on this board are pathetic, by the way. Look up how to do some real arguing, with, you know, facts instead of baseless insults and maybe we can talk again some day.

It's not what we want as fans, its what we know the team is going to do. I can tell you they are not going to be putting 14 mil a year into two WR's over the age of 30. As much as I would like to have a solid - exceptional WR #2, I think Tolbert can shape up the WR core enough that the passing game will still be explosive. I expect a big year from Lafell and Jarrett, might even see Edwards get some catches as well.

Typical arguement from an ill-informed fan....I know he had a bad attitude on another team, but just wait until we sign him.

Understand this....the Seahawks (a crappy team) paid him $7 freakin million dollars to just go away. That should tell you what you need to know about his attitude.

Can't help it....I am intolerant for ignorance.:D

I understand all of the people posting for us to get a high profile #2. I would love to sign a veteran to pair with Smitty while the Young Ones develop. However, even if that happens, it will NEVER be a high priced guy like Marshall, Boldin, or TJ. I would prefer a dependable guy like Coles, Reed, etc. Would not cost much...could be signed to a short 1-2 year contract...and has no belief that he will be a current or future centerpiece for this offense.

I also love the people that think TJ will sign a cheap deal because the Seahawks are paying him $7M. That is laughable. He is 32 yo and is looking to sign his last big payday. He will NOT be willing to sign for cheap and take a 2nd fiddle role to any other WR...that is the issue with him in Seattle.

But for people to continue to start thread, after thread, after thread bitching about the same topic is annoying.

And yet there you go, grouping them together again. Housh was released from the Seahawks. That means new contract time. Best case scenario for a team like us in need of a WR. Crayton is beside the point as he is unavailable.

Stop being dense. There is nothing hard to understand about T.J. Houshmanzadeh improving our group of WRs. And there is the fact that he can be bought fairly cheap right now.

Not a fact, speculation on your part. Other teams, some who do rely primarily on receiving ability, will bid and drive the price up for a player who has clearly shown himself to be after the dollar. 4 other teams are already in the mix. It's not a simple matter of whether or not he would be an improvement. The fact that he has no experience in our system menas any improvement would be delayed at best if it existed at all.

Normally I would agree with you, but I haven't seen to many reports of TJ being a attitude problem. In fact, Cincy is said to be considering adding him to their roster. If the team that he left is considering taking him back, then the issue with Seattle must either be perfomance related, or he is having trouble with that particular coaching staff.

I wouldn't mind picking him up for a year, and see what happens. He is being paid by Seattle, so it will not cost us much. But I don't think there is much of a chance of the front office doing so.

I don't understand how people draw this conclusion. It completely defies logic. It all depends on what teams are willing to pay now, not what he has been paid as a result of past contracts. For example, Jake Delhomme left us with 12 million in guarantees still owed to him. That didn't prevent him from getting 7 million more ion guarantees from the Browns.

I like Demetrius Williams and Michael Clayton, either of these guys could be had on the cheap and would be a nice compliment to our WR corps.

The obvious advantage to Clayton is that he could also help us scout the Bucs offense.

He is also a big WR that can block. We all know Fox loves those type of WRs.

      Are you arguing that his height deficiencies and footwork within the pocket have not been a present issue clearly seen on his game tape particularly in the games he struggled in? Because that's simply denying what everyone in this fanbase who have watched the games have seen. It's interesting how hardline BY fans here quickly and effortlessly pivot from whailing about being victimized to becoming the aggressor and hurling out allegations of bias and hatred. And at the end of the day while Bryce Young clearly improved significantly from the first two games of the season the reality of the situation is he still finished 42nd in yards per pass attempt behind Mac Jones and tied with Caleb Williams and 38th in passing yards per game behind the likes of Gardner Minshew Aidan O'Connell Drake Maye and Will Levis. Furthermore it took Bryce Young 23 games to surpass Panthers legend Kyle Allen's 13 games worth of passing yardage in 2019. So if your argument is he became a head and shoulders better passer over the course of the second half of the season the reality is we're still waiting to see that growth this season. And there is nothing controversial or vitriolic about saying so from the mind of a rational observer.

      Cam regularly threw for less than 200 yards and nobody questioned he was elite. He averaged 219 yds per game for his career.  You seem to be way too hung up on yards as a stat.  By that definition Jameis Winston should have been MVP by now.
