Graham is good, but he's not the type of player that takes over games. I think there will be receivers and edge rushers available that would make more of an impact on game day for Carolina. Top 10 picks should be game changers.

I don't know if there are a lot of CLEAR "game changers" in this draft. Hunter seems to be the most obvious. Outside that, IMO, it drops off quite a bit in terms of "safe" picks to be elite. Hence why I have wanted to trade down and gather more assets.

Well, remember that he is likely a DE in our scheme so I am not sure he is likely have quite the same impact.

I do like the idea of a Graham-Brown-Brown front, though. I think that is a problem for most OL's.

Well, if you look at London and his production, it's been pretty Mike Evans like.

I will definitely sign up for averaging 80+ rec, 1000+ yds and 5 TD's over his first three seasons. 

I agree Mike is more explosive but I would have zero problem getting a guy like London with an improved Bryce Young.

I dont want no parts of a drake London level receiver and can't understand why would we after just drafting a receiver in the first round. I could understand if we didn't have a poo ton of needs elsewhere but this is how you stay an irrelevant franchise.

I hear ya. I hesitated to make that comment because I knew someone would take it the wrong way. 

Mason Graham is great at what he does, it's just that what he does rarely takes over games. He isn't Aaron Donald or Reggie White. Heck he ain't Derrick Brown coming out of Auburn, who took a good 3 years to get back to being a dominant force, and he doesn't even take over games like a WR or edge rusher can. IDL can usually be schemed around. Good ones can change your plans, but not completely wreck the game. The elites can. I just don't think he's that.

I agree on Graham, what he does best doesn't take over games in the nfl and that was with him playing on a stacked defense. People didn't want to draft derrick brown because he wasn't Aaron Donald so I don't know how thats any different for Graham.

I mean, it is the lying season, and people, including scouts and execs, try to fool people, including themselves, but for us skipping on Graham without getting a small haul in return would be egregious.

Graham pops on tape, as you'll see him causing constant problems from his 3-technique alignment. The 6-foot-4, 296-pounder had 3.5 sacks and 7.5 tackles for loss in 2024. He is powerful enough to anchor in the running game while also being quick enough to knife through gaps and make plays in the backfield. One AFC East scout summed it up to me by saying that Graham "never loses snaps." He consistently beats the player in front of him and has the tools to be an NFL star.

 

I mean, I'm not really questioning what Charlie heard, but there are others, like this scout, and like Wink Martindale who aren't buying the narrative about short arms and being "small." I would be damned happy if he fell to us (as Daniel Jeremiah's latest mock prognosticates), and I don't believe we'd pass him up.

Haven't seen that game. Apparently neither have you. He has not been "unblockable" at all. Holds the line but he is rarely beating his block. 

Edit: actually I did see this game. Couldn't remember him doing anything special so watching it again to find what I must have missed. I didn't miss anything glaring. Kenneth Grant actually rushed the pass better that game.

As with most prospects, there are going to be varying opinions and that is before scheme/fit. considerations. We will see how it shakes out but I would not be surprised to see Graham slip in the 1st round.

I am not certain Grant will not end up being a better pro.
