Whats with all the outrage?

I'm not abandoning hope, but man, they have got to quit giving out NyQuil shooters during the halftime speech.

And try to remember, half of the teams that took the field today lost, even the Colts. Next week, roughly a third of the teams will be 0-2... let's try not to be one of them.

Good lord people.

Since the first day of camp I and others have been telling you its not going to be a winning year. The Panthers are not a playoff team. Its a rebuilding and there will be growing pains. You knew this, at least, you were told this.

Reach down, push your bollocks down out of your abdominal cavity and back into your sack.

You are making the rest of us look bad.

Love,

Zod

I'm also going to have to respectfully disagree with this. I think the problem is that we did not have to play like that today, and we did not have to be in this situation personnel wise... Those are reasons to vent frustrations.

First execution, there is no reason for any QB to consistently throw into triple and quadruple coverage especially when we are in scoring position. That does not have to deal with rebuilding, that is poor decision making.

Second Play calling, this is not a new system and new coaches. There is no excuses for the coaches play calling today. I am a Huge fox supporter, but I know this game was horribly coached and called. Another valid reason to be frustrated and upset.

Third personnel. I stopped posting in this board after draft and FA this off season because I foresaw a lot of issues that others did. But I wanted to give the FO the benefit of the doubt and wait until game one. The thing is that some of our issues could have easily been prevented. It was clear before and after today that we lack a starter opposite Smitty who can make catches, move the chains, and generate respect from opposing defense like Moose did. Currently our #2 WR probably wouldn't be in the top 4 on the WR Depth Chart for a good amount of other teams.... so what does that say about our #3, and #4 WR's??? This could have been prevented. There were solid vets who could have came in and played #2 while we develop our talent. Steve Smith seemed to be the only one today who could get constant separation... and that's even in double coverage. With that being the case teams will not respect our passing game, and our running game gets shut down. Because the FO could have attempted to avoid and prevent this is reason the be frustrated and vent.

Our secondary is supposed to be somewhat experienced.... they are not rookies, and they have been in this system too long to look so damn lost! Gamble, Marshall, Captain, Goodfrey, there are no excuses for what happened today. Especially from them.... I don't consider any of them rebuilding players. Another reason to vent and be frustrated.

Point is this team did not have to be in this position, and they did not need to play the way they did today, or make such poor decisions. That's why all the outrage after this particular game.

I treat this game as a starting point and I am excited to see improvements throughout the season. Thats part of the fun of being a fan of a team, watching the young guys progress.

Reminds me of 2002 when you would feel good about making a game of it, and greatful for winning it. Makes it easier to watch, that is for sure.

I tried to tell people this, but they only laugh.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
