Panthers do everything possible to avoid starting Dwayne Jarrett

Y'mean like the throw that won the game to Colston? That's why I f**king hate Drew Brees. Take him out of New Orleans and the Saints are mediocre.

It is a QB league. Take Manning out of Indy, Brady out of NE, etc and a teams performance falls way off. What Panther fans need to be asking is if Michael Pollard is worth building around.

ummmm....i'm going to go with no.

now jimmy clausen? yeah, he's worth building around. crap, i'd even say he's worth hiring an HC around...or at least an OC.

Have you guys not learned yet that arguing with CRA about Jarrett is pointless? He's spent the entire offseason defending him like he is the next Hall of Famer in the wings. It's best to just move along.
how else am i going to procrastinate working? i've already had two dumps today.

The only reason why he's even on the roster is because of how bad our WR corps is. That and he's a 2nd round pick so cutting him means the FO has to admit they screwed up royally by drafting him in the first place. It's easier to just keep him over an inconsistent no-name WR like Trent Guy or Kenny Moore and save face.

Words of wisdom! The same reason others continue to hang around.

even doing all that was gettis so much better than jarret that he deserved to start? what did he show that was that much better? you guys always throw up dj lack of touchdowns and catches to say he sucks. what are gettis stats to say he is so good?

also how do you know gettis is doing all those things correctly? even if he does being a wr is ***ultimately about catching the football****. you could do all those other things perfect but if you have stone hands you will not be a wr for long.

Ummmm u must first take out the USC footage put it to the side. Next step watch a little NFL footage of Jarrett he doesn't get it done. Playing receiver is way more than catching a ball if my ten year old nephew said that I'd school him but I'm assuming you know football enough so if that's how you feel then maybe getting off jams, separation, selling a fade when running a curl is just for conversation. It's Jarrett not Fox beason smith kalil dwill peppers etc... fault he hasn't put it all together He doesn't even get on the field because his lack of playbook knowledge coach can't trust him to do his job ALL THE WAY. I like him but damn are you serious who doesn't want to win fox would love to play his ass if All it took was catching the ball he'd be a MEGA STAR

other players. beason in particular calling him out for not being able to figure out where to line up.

exactly my point. you guys are taking poo talk by a defenisve player during practice and blowing it out of proportion.

Let's start calling out Steve Smith for not knowing the playbook, LaFell, etc. B/c in his 1st start LaFell has run wrong routes and as a seasoned pro Smith ran wrong assignments that resulted in picks last season.......

wonder why people only use those against Jarrett......and ignore it on everyone else. Not knowing the playbook was the bs the anti Moore crowd was hanging there hat on as to why Fox would never put him in. Moore ain't a Fox guy and never was.....simple as that. Fox doesn't control the roster.....but he will put his guys in and the organizations guys on the bench.

maybe because gettis does everything he's asked and goes where he's supposed to, lines up where he's supposed to and knows what he's doing while jarrett really doesn't?

is that too simple of an answer? if so, then just go on back to your conspiracy theories. lol

I want conspiracy theory number two for three hundred Alex. Who is the man who slept with Fox & Rich daughters :ciappa:and then never called em back dirty whores

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
