This is why you're not the owner of this team.

But in all seriousness, you can't say Gettis and Lafell are only #3s at this point. Its been 2 games and its not like they have had a lot of balls thrown their way. Give them time. If by the end of the season, they're not making SOME kind of impact, then maybe we can talk about this. But there have been somewhere between 34 and 56839 threads about this since the last preseason game. We're not trading for anybody. Get used to it, man.

In the past 10 years.....how many drafted WRs were actually #2 caliber there rookie year. The safe bet is that they aren't going to be that this year.

but it doesn't matter. We are just playing a waiting game anyway. 14 more Fox games to go. Watching the young guys grow is what we have to look forward to.

okay i may be jumpin the gun a bit but u mean to tell me that we couldnt of used pat crayton i guy who was shopped for a 7th round pick ! a guy who has been a solid receiver for the most part of his career. the point im tryin to make is if jimmys our future we need to build the offense around him and not be such a heavy run team. we have stability at the rb position so we can afford to lose one.

Since when is it such a bad thing for an NFL franchise to develop their own players, instead of trading away draft picks for FA's? Does anybody here really believe that Vincent Jackson would have won this team a Superbowl this season, and would anything less than a Superbowl victory justify what they would have to give up to get a WR of that calibre?

People can bitch and moan about this all they want, but no trade is gonna make us world champs this year, and if we're gonna have to wait a year or two for it to happen, then why not do it with our own draft picks?

    • I read that Pittsburgh is a possibility.  I think of college QB studs who had some form of mental quirk yet tons of talent--but their issue made being a team leader difficult and it led to their demise--going back:  Jamarcus Russell, Art Schlichter, Jeff George, etc. I think people forget that the QB must not only have talent, but they must lead.
    • I wish I knew more details, but the NIL money to 20-year olds combined with easy access to gambling sites is a side effect that these kids may not have considered.  To your point,A famous 2009 Sports Illustrated article titled “How (and Why) Athletes Go Broke” estimated that 78% of retired NFL players go bankrupt or face significant financial stress within two years of leaving the league.  I am guessing that ego and $$$ and the thrill of competition (most pro athletes love competition because they are the winners) makes it a powerful temptation.  Throw in the ease of gambling on your phone which is always in your hand, and I see your point x 10.
    • Freeling got some reps at RT when they gave Moton a rest day--I sorta hope Freeling gets brought along slowly as you describe.  It would be better for him for reasons you provide.  We have a really good problem.
