Williams Trade Story (The Actual Source)

This guy, Joe Arrigo, is smoking something. He's Packers fan who's reeling from the pain of losing to Chicago and he's dreaming up a trade for one of the best RB's in the league....nice.

As a Panthers fan, I'd like to report that the Panthers got together with their "brain trust" for 4.5 hours to discuss trading Otah and a 2nd rounder for Tom Brady. There have been some really heated discussions but everything from the Patriots sound positive....stay tuned....

I surely hope all of this is just a bad rumor. Otherwise the only reason to trade Williams and take less than maximum compensation is if you plan to let him walk in free agency and are trying to get at least something for him. Honestly if that is the case things are going to get much uglier this year.

At this pace I won't have a jersey to wear that represents a current player. With Jake and Peppers gone and Williams rumored to be gone, this is getting ridiculous. I will have to get a jersey with replaceable numbers and nameplates to keep up.

WTF James Who? and a 4th rounder...? WTF is this, the flea market? Screw that. If we make a deal anything near that I might have to give up fandom of this team.

Ridiculous... BTW Gantt does not think this plausible.

Yep. Gantt said on his Twitter page that he didn't buy it.

I'm having a tougher time taking the guy seriously after seeing some spelling errors in his writing (he wrote in one blog that "all was quite" in the Packers front office).

That, plus as previously referenced, he couldn't even get our record right, saying that if we lost the next two games we'd be 1-5.

(we have no wins, and how do have a 1-5 record in only five weeks anyway?)

I've said a million times, I hope we keep DWill, Stew, and Goodson for their entire careers although in today's league that's not very likely...

If we did trade someone I was hoping it would be Sutton for James Jones. That seems like a fair deal to me...

I'm putting this one in the "possible, but unlikely" category.

There's no buzz about this from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/) or any of the Packers beat writers.

(FYI: links to local pages can be found at http://www.nflbeatwriterblogs.com/)

I'm having a hard time buying that a radio-guy/part-time-writer living in Southern California has been able to scoop the locals who cover the team daily.

something to keep in mind:

anytime a fan (or bill belicheck) thinks a trade is fair, it blatantly is not.

Jimmy Johnson used to say that whenever a coach or GM talked about being "fair", he was actually saying "I'm gonna screw ya, but I don't want you to know it."

When asked if, in his role with the Dolphins, he'd be open to trading with old boss Jerry Jones, he said "I'd be very fair with him"

Yea Panthers should just go ahead and get rid of all the stars. It's not like 50% of the stadium is wearing 34. What a way to get people into the stands. Should probably go ahead and trade Smith too so 90% of Panther fans have outdated jerseys.

So the smith trade talk is diminished and it's on to Deangelo? And we when find out this is bullshit are we gonna start talking about trades for Beason? By the end of the season we'll have postulated the trading of every playmaker on our team.
